Day 1

Nairobi to Samburu National Reserve

Your 6-day adventure begins with a 7 AM pickup from your Nairobi accommodation or from the airport, setting off on a scenic journey to Samburu Game Reserve. Along the way, you will have a stopover at the Equator line in Nanyuki where you can witness the fascinating phenomenon of water swirling in opposite directions on either side of the equator. Continue your drive to Samburu arriving at your lodge or camp in time for lunch.

Following a brief relaxation, embark on an evening game drive with our experienced safari guide. Explore the reserve's rugged terrain, Samburu Game Reserve is home to a variety of wildlife species that are not commonly found in other parts of Kenya, these include the reticulated giraffe, Grevy's zebra, Beisa oryx, Somali ostrich and gerenuk also known as the "giraffe gazelle." As the sun sets over the horizon, return to your lodge for dinner and overnight rest recounting the day's thrilling encounters amidst the beauty of Samburu.

Day 2

Full Day in Samburu National Reserve

Full Day in Samburu National Reserve

Wake up to the enchanting sounds of the bush as you prepare for a half-day game drive safari in Samburu Game Reserve after breakfast. Spend the morning exploring the reserve's diverse landscapes and encountering its resident wildlife with chances to spot the elusive leopard, Somali ostrich and reticulated giraffe. The reserve boasts breathtaking landscapes characterized by rugged mountains, acacia woodlands and meandering rivers such as the Ewaso Nyiro.

At 12PM, Return to your lodge or camp for lunch and some relaxation time amidst the serene surroundings. Later in the afternoon, set out on another thrilling game drive safari, maximizing your chances of spotting wildlife as the day transitions into dusk. You will come across a variety of animals congregating along the riverbanks including elephants, hippos, crocodiles and numerous bird species. As the sun sets over the savannah, return to your accommodation for dinner and relaxation.

Day 3

Samburu to Lake Nakuru National Park

Rise early for breakfast before departing Samburu and embarking on the journey to Lake Nakuru National Park. Enjoy a scenic drive with stopovers at Thomson Falls and the Great Rift Valley Escarpment past Nyahururu offering breathtaking views of the surrounding landscapes. Upon arrival in Nakuru, check in for lunch and afternoon relaxation at your lodge before embarking on an evening game drive from 3PM with our experienced guide. The park is home to one of the largest concentrations of black rhinos in East Africa as well as a significant population of white rhinos.

Discover the park's diverse landscapes from wooded grasslands to the shimmering lake shores, In addition to flamingos, Lake Nakuru is a haven for birdwatchers with over 450 bird species recorded within the park and other wildlife species. As the sun sets over the horizon, return to your lodge for dinner and overnight rest, recounting the day's thrilling encounters amidst the beauty of Nakuru.

Along the way, you can opt for a scenic pass by Lake Naivasha (extra) for an optional boat ride and nature walk safari in a wildlife sanctuary nearby. Observe hippos wallowing in the water and marvel at the array of bird species inhabiting the area.

Afterwards, your driver will drop you off at your hotel or directly to the airport for your onward arrangements leaving you with cherished memories of your unforgettable journey through Samburu, Lake Nakuru and Masai Mara.
