Day 1
Materuni Waterfalls & Coffee Tour
Materuni Waterfalls & Coffee Tour
On this day, you will get to learn about the culture of the Chagga, village life, and the surrounding fauna, and flora. The views are truly breathtaking. With some luck, you will see the summit of Kilimanjaro. When you reach the waterfalls, you will see that they are more than 80 meters high. The pool at the bottom of the waterfall is an inviting place for a refreshing swim so don‘t forget your swimwear!
After having enjoyed the scenery, you'll slowly return with your guide to Materuni village, where you will experience a traditional Chagga lunch. Next, the coffee experience awaits you. Here, you will learn how coffee is cultivated, dried, roasted, and further processed. You will also be invited to help with the grinding of the coffee, which is traditionally accompanied by Chagga songs and dances — a fun way to immerse yourself in the local culture. Before you say goodbye, you can savor the coffee you made and appreciate the views of the surrounding rainforest.

Day 2
Tarangire National Park
Tarangire National Park
On the last day, you'll head into the Tarangire National Park for a game drive. The park runs along the line of the Tarangire River and is mainly made up of low-lying hills on the Great Rift Valley floor. Its natural vegetation mainly consists of acacia woodland and giant African baobab trees, with huge swamp areas in the south. Both the river and the swamps act like a magnet for wild animals, during Tanzania’s dry season. The Tarangire National Park is reputed to contain some of the largest elephant herds in Africa. This national park is also home to three rare species of animals —the Greater kudu, the Fringed-eared oryx, as well as a few Ashy Starlings. You'll eat lunch at a picnic after which you'll continue with the game drive until late evening. Then, you'll head to Arusha/JRO.
