We will pick you up from the airport and transfer you to Jacobsen beach. Have lunch and thereafter transfer to Ujiji village and visit the Dr Livingstone memorial center. Ujiji is the oldest town in western Tanzania, located about 6 miles (10 km) south of Kigoma. Ujiji is the place where Richard Burton and John Speke first reached the shore of Lake Tanganyika in 1858. It is the site of the famous meeting on 10 November 1871 when Henry Stanley found Dr David Livingstone, and reputedly uttered the famous words “Dr Livingstone, I presume?”. Livingstone, whom many thought dead as no news had been heard of him for several years. A monument known as the Dr Livingstone Memorial was erected here to commemorate the meeting. There is also a modest museum. There is a former slave route near the market. After Ujiji, pick up and transfer back to the Jacobsen beach. Dinner and overnight.

Kigoma to Gombe
After breakfast, we will pick you up and transfer you to Gombe National Park by private boat. We arrive at the lodge and have lunch at 12h00. Afterward, we proceed on an afternoon chimpanzee trekking in the forest. Gombe Stream’s main attraction is the protected chimpanzee families that live within the park’s boundaries. Visitors take walks deep into the forest to observe and sit with the extraordinary primates for an entire morning. Apart from chimpanzee viewing, many other species of primates live in Gombe Stream’s tropical forests. Vervet and colobus monkeys, baboons, forest pigs, and dik-diks inhabit the dense forest as well as a wide variety of tropical birdlife. After trekking, back to Gombe forest lodge for Dinner and overnight.

Gombe Chimpanzee Trekking
After breakfast, we start the chimpanzee trekking in the forest at 08h00, accompanied by the guide. We visit the Kakombe Waterfalls, returning to the guest house for a late lunch. In the evening time, we go swimming at Lake Tanganyika. The lake is one of the richest freshwater ecosystems in the world, with over 2,000 species, 500 of them not found anywhere else on earth, making the lake their home. Return for dinner and overnight at the lodge.

Gombe to Jacobsen's Beach Kigoma
After breakfast at 08h00, we proceed on the chimpanzee trekking. We climb to Jane Goodall's peak, returning to the guest house for lunch. Thereafter, we take a boat ride to Jacobsen beach. Jacobsen Beach and Guesthouse is a place where families and small groups can enjoy a relaxing and affordable escape. Our aim is to provide simple but clean accommodation, and space to enjoy nature. At Jacobsen's beach, you're free to cook by yourself, or a chef will assist.

Jacobsen's Beach to Kigoma Airport
In the morning after breakfast, you will be picked up from Jacobsen beach and transfer to Kigoma airport. Gombe Safari will provide a transfer from the beach to the airport, bus station or railway station.
