Day 1

Livingstone - Ngonye (Sioma) Waterfalls

Livingstone - Ngonye (Sioma) Waterfalls

You'll be picked up from your accommodation in Livingstone and we'll follow the course of the Zambezi River up to the beautiful Ngonye Falls. It's not as mighty as the “big brother" further south but is equally impressive.
The Zambezi spreads into several channels and the masses of water find their way through the basalt rock formations. We will hike around the area and also do a short boat trip to explore this beautiful landscape. We'll be camping near the river. Participants are requested to help with setting up tents and loading the vehicles. (-/L/D).

Day 2-4

Liuwa Plain National Park

Liuwa Plain National Park

In the morning, we'll carry on via Mongu and Kalabo to Liuwa Plains. There are few roads in Liuwa Plain National Park. That, however, is part of the park’s attraction: around 3660km² of untouched Africa. Most of this is a vast honey-colored plain of grass, with just the occasional water pan, island of raffia palms or small tree-belt interrupting the scenery. Thousands of wildebeest, with zebras and buffalos, join the more static resident, red lechwe and reedbuck. The open plains are particularly good for oribi. With all these come the predators: hyena, wild dog and lion can be spotted. We'll be camping in the bush (running water, showers and flush toilets are present). Participants are requested to help with setting up tents and loading the vehicle. (3x FB).

Main Destination:
Liuwa Plain National Park
Best Time To Visit November (Animals gather on the plain)
High Season Never (The park is rarely visited)

Day 6-7

Kafue National Park

Kafue National Park

We'll drive through the pristine Miombo Forest to the Chunga region. Several small rivers cross this area. These leaves a number of waterholes in the dry season for the animals to quench their thirst. Wild dogs, which roam large areas of the park, cheetah and lion are among the inhabitants here. We'll be camping on the banks of the Kafue River. Participants are requested to help with setting up tents and loading the vehicle. (2xFB).
