Upon your arrival in Arusha, we'll pick you up from either Kilimanjaro Airport, which is 52km away (a 1hr 16mins drive), or Arusha Airport, just 8km away (a 30mins drive). Regardless of your mode of arrival, be it by bus, flight, or other means, we'll arrange pickup from any point for your convenience. During your stay, you'll enjoy a 6-hour tour exploring Arusha's highlights, including visits to the Art Gallery, Maasai Market, and a Town tour.

Lake Eyasi, Maasai Hunting

Your journey kicks off promptly at 7:00 am. The distance from Tarangire to Lake Eyasi spans 108km and takes about 3 hours and 15 minutes. You'll engage in an exhilarating 6-hour game drive amidst stunning landscapes and diverse wildlife. You will recharge with a delicious hot lunch at Lake Eyasi, then unwind at Mto wa Mbu for a hearty dinner and a cozy overnight stay.

You'll explore the fascinating traditional way of life with a memorable trek alongside the local tribe. As the last hunter-gatherer tribe in East Africa, their hunt offers a captivating glimpse into history. The trek covers 5-8 km, with bursts of speed during game pursuits. After your morning meal, your journey begins at 7:30 am, the scenic route from Arusha to Kilimanjaro spans 83km, taking approximately 1 hour and 45 minutes.

Your adventure starts with a visit to the majestic Materuni Waterfalls. Along the way, your guide will share insights into the Chagga tribe's culture and the surrounding flora and fauna. You will enjoy cultural activities, including a visit to a coffee plantation, where you'll learn about coffee cultivation, and processing, and enjoy tasting freshly brewed coffee. You will explore the picturesque waterfalls and experience traditional Chagga songs. In the late evening, you'll return to the airport, concluding your unforgettable journey.

Materuni, nestled on the slopes of Mount Kilimanjaro, is home to the Chagga tribe, offering a glimpse into their traditional way of life amidst breathtaking scenery.
