Day 1

Tarangire National Park

Tarangire National Park

You'll be picked up from your hotel early in the morning (around 8:30 am) and start your safari. You'll transfer to Tarangire National Park or Lake Manyara National Park. The park offers some breathtaking scenery. Tarangire is famous for its baobab tree, giant figs, and mahogany trees, as well as a growing population of baboons and blue monkeys. You will be able to spot giraffes, a group of elephants, impalas, buffaloes, and a large number of hippos. Some unique facts about this park include the tree-climbing lions as well as the ground hornbill and the crested eagle. You'll have a game drive and a break for lunch inside the park. In the afternoon, you'll go for a game drive and in the evening transfer to the hotel.

Day 2

Ngorongoro crater

Ngorongoro crater

Early morning transfer to Ngorongoro crater and descending down to the crater floor. The Ngorongoro Crater is the world’s largest inactive, intact and unfilled volcanic caldera. The Crater was voted one of the Seven Natural Wonders of Africa in 2013 and listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Approximately 30,000 animals live in the crater. This is one of the few places in Africa where guests stand a great chance of seeing the entire Big Five in the course of a single game drive. Lunch and game drive inside the crater. At evening we begin our return to the Camp.

Day 3

Empakaai Crater

Empakaai Crater

Morning after breakfast you will drive 2-3 hours to Empakaai crater and you will start to enjoy a nice walking from there meet your Masai guide will arrive with his donkeys to meet you there. You will be able to explore the crater and descend to Lake Empakaai on a well-maintained path. This alkaline soda lake is an important food source for flamingos, which can be seen throughout the year. Returning to the camp, a campfire and supper will be waiting for you. During the night, you might hear the flamingos call as they fly back to their breeding nests at Lake Manyara and Lake Natron and you will enjoy your dinner and overnight at Empakaai Crater rim Camp.

Day 4

Acacia Camp

Acacia Camp

After breakfast star you’re walking from Empakaai Crater to Acacia Camp and loading the Donkeys, the journey continues. This day you will hike to the Masai village Naiyobi following a good path. The village as well as Oldonyo Lengai, an active volcano, can be seen from the distance. After lunch you will trek to leaves the Ngorongoro Conservation Area and the landscape becomes drier and warmer. Tonight’s camp will be set up at amongst an acacia forest. Today you will be walking with the donkey for about 5 to 6 hours and enjoy your dinner and overnight to the camp.

Day 5

Acacia to Lake Natron

Acacia to Lake Natron

After morning breakfast you will start short walking from Acacia camp to the mainly downhill. The highlights of the trek are the great views of Oldonyo Lengai, Lake Natron and the Rift Valley. The rugged countryside looks almost surreal covered by grey ash of the last eruption in 2007. The trek descends into the dry and hot Rift Valley, where the ash can be seen up close. Today you will walk around 3 hours in total. In the afternoon, you will walk and visit the waterfalls and overnight at camp.

Day 6

Lake Natron to Arusha

Lake Natron to Arusha

An early start is advised here. Being on the shore of Lake Natron as the sun rises is something you will never forget. Lake Natron is often described as having a lunar beauty. The lake gets its reddish color from salt-loving organisms and algae. Amazingly, 2.5 million flamingos make Lake Natron their home and it is one of their only breeding grounds. You will have a chance to experience these incredible birds and then return to camp for breakfast.

After breakfast, you will return to your hotel in Arusha. The drive time is approximately 4 hours.
