Day 1

Transfer to Kibale National Park

Today, the driver guide will pick you from your hotel and you start the transfer journey to Kibale National park. The drive is an amazing 380km from Kampala with a combination of views from the local villages, different landscapes, and tea plantations. Upon arrival, have lunch at the lodge and after refreshing visit the top of the world for views of the craters. Have an overnight and dinner.

Day 2

A primate lover would not Skip Kibale Forest. The premier chimpanzee destination of Kibale, offers a day activity to spend an hour in the presence of chimpanzees twice from 8am and from 2pm. Today, after breakfast, you shall join other groups at the Kanyanchu Visitors centre for briefing before you embark on the activity- chimpanzee tracking for the morning session. Guides will lead you into the forest and after the return, we visit the Bigodi wetland sanctuary and community to engage with the community.

Day 3

Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable national park

Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable national park

Today after breakfast, we drive from Kibale to Bwindi impenetrable national park. The journey is about a 5 hours’ drive but through Queen Elizabeth National park-Ishasha road. We shall enjoy watching a few wildlife like Buffaloes, birds, elephants among others on the transfer. We arrive early afternoon, check in and have lunch. We shall visit the Batwa community, a group of old forest people to learn about their traditional practices as we await the next adventure with the gorillas.

Day 4

Gorilla tracking

Uganda’s single most important tourist hotspot is the 331sqk Bwindi forest that covers a rugged landscape of steep hills and valleys abutting the Congolese border south of Ishasha sector. The forest provides shelter to some of Africa’s diverse mammalian fauna that includes half population of mountain gorillas and the main activity here is gorilla tracking. Today we shall drive to the head offices of Bwindi Forest Park for orientation and briefing before we hit the trails for an amazing encounter with the mountain gorillas. The activity can last 3-8 hours depending on the location of gorillas and after the return, you will relax at the lodge for the experience to sink in, if possible have a night camp fire at the lodge.

Day 5

Return to Entebbe

Return to Entebbe

Today is a drive back to Entebbe after breakfast. We shall drive from south west to central Uganda crossing the equator and having lunch along the way. We shall arrive in the late afternoon and you will be dropped at the hotel for an overnight. If there will be still need to test before exiting, you shall do the test.
