Pick up and transfer to Volcanoes National park

Today you transfer to Volcanoes National park after your arrival. It is a 2-3 hour drive through the land of 1000 hills to the park. Volcanoes National Park, is a renowned gorilla sanctuary and famous for its rich diversity. We shall arrive and relax at lodge as we await the adventure in the forest the next day. You can do an optional activity, walk and visit the Burera and Rubondo twin lakes.

Gorilla tracking and Iby’iwachu cultural centre visit

Today we wake up early and by 7am we should be at Kinigi park headquarters for briefing and to meet the other trackers. Gorilla tracking in Rwanda is less strenuous that other countries, it is easy to hike and we shall be led by guides and rangers through the forest. When we get to the park and get to the gorillas, you shall be allowed an hour for watching and photography. After we return and have lunch at the lodge and later visit the Iby’iwachu cultural centre for an insight in the culture and history of the people of Rwanda. Later return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

- Transfer to Kigali and do the city tour

Today, we transfer to Kigali city for an overnight but we shall have a city tour before. Kigali is a city that has had a lot more to recover and come back from than any other city on the African continent. Over the last 25 years, and mostly the last decade, we have seen the city being transformed into the most inviting city in Africa. A lot has led to the booming development and solid infrastructure growth but the strict laws and policies, the people, and the organizing of the Umuganda have contributed much. This has kept Kigali clean and a social city. We visit some of the prominent sites in the city.

Departure

Today is when you say goodbye to the land of 1000 hills. You will wake up at leisure, and depending on your flight schedule, our guide will drop you at the airport for your exit flight.
