Day 1

Upon arrival at Bole International Airport, you will meet our representative, who will take you to your hotel. After some rest, we will embark on a city tour of Addis Ababa. Our first stop will be the National Museum, also known as the Archaeological Museum, which houses fascinating archaeological exhibits, including Lucy, the 3.2-million-year-old hominid skeleton considered a key discovery in studying human evolution. Next, we will visit the Ethnographic Museum, which features an extensive collection of Ethiopian crafts and items of historical significance. You will spend the night at the Swiss Inn Nexus Hotel.

Day 2

Addis Ababa to Arba Minch

In the morning, around 7:30am, we will begin our drive southwest of Addis Ababa, passing through Hossana, known for its lush greenery and fertile land. Along the way, we will observe the way of life of the Oromo, Gurage, Hadiya, and Silte people, characterized by their thatched-roof circular houses surrounded by enset, often called false banana trees. The landscape is stunning, with views of Lake Abaya and Lake Chamo, two of the country's most fertile and evergreen areas, where we will spend the night at Haile Resort Arba Minch.

Day 3

Drive to Jinka

Drive to Jinka

Start your day with an early breakfast before driving to Lake Chamo for a boat excursion. This trip will allow you to see the famous Crocodile Market and observe hippos in their natural habitat. The crocodiles here are some of the longest in Africa, measuring 8m (262ft) or more!

After the boat tour, drive to Jinka, stopping along the way to visit the Konso, Tsemay and Ari people. You will also cross the Weito Desert, home to the Tsemay people. For the night, check in at the Eco Omo Resort.

Day 4

Visit Mursi and Drive to Turmi

Visit Mursi and Drive to Turmi

Visit Mago National Park to experience the culture of the Mursi people and their villages. Here, women adorn their lips with round clay plates, while men perform scarification to signify the number of enemies or wild animals they have killed in battle. Afterward, return to Jinka for lunch and drive to Turmi. If it is Tuesday, explore one of the best markets at Dimeka, and if you are lucky, you may also witness a bull-jumping ceremony. Overnight stay will be at Buska Lodge.

Day 5

Visit the Karo and Dassenech People

Visit the Karo and Dassenech People

This morning, we are heading to Murulle to meet the Karo people, known for adorning their bodies with intricate patterns and scars. In the afternoon, we will drive to the edge of the Omo River. We will cross the river by canoe to reach the villages of the Dassanech people (please note that while a motorboat or ferry may be available, it is not guaranteed). The Dassanech are a semi-nomadic group with approximately 50,000 members, and their clans extend across Sudan, Kenya and southern Ethiopia. They are known for their unique and ornate hair buns. We will be staying overnight at Buska Lodge.

Visit Benna, Aria and Konso

In the morning, drive through the villages of Ari, Benna and Tsemay. In the afternoon, visit the Konso village, recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Enjoy the unique features of Konso and its surroundings. Nearby, you will find a giant cleft with rock formations that resemble outlines similar to those in New York. Overnight accommodation is at Kanta Lodge.

Today, we drive to the mountain to visit the Dorze, well-known cotton weavers. The Dorze people were once warriors. They are famous for their cotton-woven cloths and beehive huts. Admire the wonderful view of Lake Abaya and Chamo. Then, drive to Langano through the Great Rift Valley. Overnight at Sabana Beach Resort.

Day 8

Drive to Addis Ababa

Drive to Addis Ababa

Today, we will drive back to Addis Ababa through the Great Rift Valley, stopping at Lake Ziway. We will visit the Oromo people and their villages. Afterward, we will continue our journey to Addis to do some souvenir shopping. Later, we will enjoy dinner at one of the most famous restaurants in Ethiopia, where you will have the opportunity to see traditional dances from various ethnic groups. Finally, we will transfer you to the airport for your flight back to your country, marking the end of the trip.
