After enjoying an early breakfast at your hotel, your guide will arrive to pick you up for your exciting journey to Uganda via the Chanika Border. As you leave Rwanda, often called the "Land of a Thousand Hills," you’ll be treated to stunning views of its rolling landscapes and lush greenery. The scenic drive offers plenty of opportunities to immerse yourself in the natural beauty of the region, with the towering volcanoes of the Virunga Range creating a dramatic backdrop.
Along the way, your guide will make several stops, allowing you to step out, stretch, and capture beautiful photographs of the unique terrain and picturesque countryside. Each stop presents a chance to connect with the serene surroundings, offering an unforgettable travel experience.

Day 2
Mountain gorilla trekking
Mountain gorilla trekking
Start your day with an early breakfast at the lodge and collect your packed lunch. You’ll drive to the Mgahinga National Park headquarters, arriving in time for a pre-trek briefing.
A knowledgeable Uganda Wildlife Authority ranger will then provide an essential briefing on the dos and don’ts of gorilla trekking, emphasizing critical guidelines to ensure safety for both you and the gorillas. Following the briefing, your ranger guide will lead you into the forest as you begin your search for a specific mountain gorilla family.
The trek can vary in duration depending on the gorillas’ location, but the journey through the dense, magical forest is an experience in itself. Once you locate the gorilla family, you will spend an awe-inspiring hour observing them in their natural habitat, marveling at their behaviors and interactions.
After this, you’ll trek back to the park headquarters to receive your gorilla tracking certificate. Finally, return to your lodge to unwind.

After an early breakfast, embark on an exciting golden monkey tracking adventure in Mgahinga National Park. Accompanied by experienced guides, you’ll trek through the lush forest to encounter these lively and endangered primates. The golden monkeys are known for their vibrant golden-orange fur and playful behavior, offering a thrilling and memorable experience as you observe them in their natural habitat.
Following the golden monkey tracking, return to the lodge to freshen up and enjoy a relaxing midday break. After lunch at the lodge, prepare for your transfer to Kigali. The scenic drive back offers opportunities to reflect on your incredible experiences in the region. Upon arrival in Kigali, you’ll be taken to the airport in time for your return flight, bringing your unforgettable adventure to a close.
