Fly to Hoedspruit Airport in the central Kruger area then Transfer to Klaserie Reserve

The Eastgate Airport in the frontier town of Hoedspruit is rumoured to be able to facilitate the landing of the space shuttle with its extra-long and wide landing strips. But far from being a high tech airport, it is charming, small and welcoming with a true safari character. Eastgate Airport has daily flights from Cape Town and from Johannesburg. Here you will be collected by a private shuttle and transferred to Tuskers Safari Camp in Klaserie Game Reserve. There is also the option of a road transfer to Hoedspruit or self drive a hired car.
Your group of 4 or more will have exclusive use of the lodge and its staff. The traditional lodge is perched on a hill overlooking the plains below where you might spot elephants or rhinos. Each room has a separate entrance, air-conditioning and en-suite bathroom.
Lunch will be served, whether on the pool deck with a view or in the cool thatched interior. An afternoon game drive departs later and returns after dark for dinner and good night sleep.

Enjoy a Full-Day at Your Exclusive Lodge with Morning and Afternoon Game Drives Led by Local Guides

After coffee at first light, the game drive leaves camp. The wildlife is most active at dawn and dusk and there is a good chance to catch sight of a predator, hear lions calling and even come across some fresh animal tracks that will lead to a successful sighting later in the day. There are waterholes dispersed over the area as well as a section on the Ntsiri River in this Eastern section of Klaserie Game Reserve. Your guides will take time to explain tracks and signs, stop for birds and work hard to find you all the animals on your wishlist.
A packed breakfast of hot drinks and muffins is a punctuation point of the morning drive before heading leisurely back to Tuskers Safari Camp for a full breakfast. You can relax around camp at the pool with a view or in air-conditioned comfort in your room or go birding around the camp before lunch and the afternoon drive.
Dinner could be in the traditional 'lapa" around the campfire sharing tales of today before retiring to bed.

A Morning in Klaserie with a Drive and Breakfast before Transfer to nDzuti Bushcamp Balule

A Morning in Klaserie with a Drive and Breakfast before Transfer to nDzuti Bushcamp Balule

Set out at first light to gather information in the form of tracks and signs and calling of predators and prey to aid your guides in finding exciting wildlife sightings. Klaserie has been very proactive in protecting her rhino population against the scourge of commercial poaching and there is a good chance of seeing some of these impressive beasts.
There will be a tea and coffee break during the drive with some freshly baked muffins and a full breakfast is prepared back at the lodge. You will be collected and transferred to the next reserve and the tented bush camp. The transfer will take slightly over an hour. Ndzuti Tented Bush Camp is a charming collection of tents under a baobab tree in a mopane grove, with a splash pool and a spotlit waterhole. The camp is not fenced which adds to its appeal and the tents have private outdoor bathrooms adjacent to each one.
Lunch is served under the trees and a game drive sets off into the Maseke section of Balule Game Reserve.

Day 4

A Full-Day at nDzuti Tented Bush Camp with Morning and Afternoon Drives

A Full-Day at nDzuti Tented Bush Camp with Morning and Afternoon Drives

This area of the Greater Kruger is fortunate to have the Olifants River run through and the characteristic beautiful rocky outcrops for which Balule is known. The terrain is visually pleasing and the animal sightings are exciting. At any one time, your guides could invite you to join them in following tracks while off the vehicle or just to do a short walk looking for birds and explaining the ecology of the area. Being off the vehicle on foot is very much part of our ethos. This area of Balule is well known for its lion sightings and elephants are plentiful, although nothing is guaranteed in the bush. Morning and afternoon safaris are the order of the day and relaxing in the unfenced camp all the while keeping an eye on the waterhole. The tented accommodation is comfortable with sturdy beds and fine linen as well as an electric fan and of course the thrill of an outdoor shower. Spending the night under the canvas in the African bush is memorable and something you'll yearn for.
