Day 1

Dar es salaam to Mikumi

Dar es salaam to Mikumi

You will be picked up from Dar es Salaam early morning (6:00am) and drive to Mikumi National Park via Morogoro town, this drive will take up to 6hrs. Arrive for lunch in Mikumi National Park then continue with afternoon game drive until sunset.

Mikumi was gazetted as a National Park in 1964 and is named after the spindle shaped Borassus palm trees. The Mkata plain supports vast herds of plains game such as wildebeest, impala, zebra and giraffe, hunted by their associated predators; while you are more likely to find elephants, buffalos, Lichtenstein’s hartebeest and greater kudu in the surrounding fertile hills.

Day 2

Mikumi to Udzungwa Mountain NP

Mikumi to Udzungwa Mountain NP

After breakfast drive to Udzungwa Mountain National Park headquarter to complete formalities. You will drive to the starting point of famous Sanje trail and you will start trekking in this beautiful mountain enjoying and experience the stunning natural beauty of the Park. Picnic lunch in the bush then proceed exploring the area, you will get the access to wonderful Sanje waterfall stunning 170m. You will see different species of monkeys include endemic species of Sanje Crested Mangabey and Iringa Red Colobus Monkey. You will get the chance to swim in one of the waterfall plunge pools. After trekking you will go back to the hotel for dinner and overnight.

Day 3

After breakfast start the journey to Ruaha National Park with stopover in Iringa Town for lunch.
Arrive for afternoon game drives in the park looking for hippo, crocodile, waterbuck, reedbuck and buffalo venture to the river’s edge to drink, attracting the attention of lion, leopard, hyena, wild dog and jackal. There are many birds in the park include Eurasia migrants that comes to visit the park twice a year.

Day 4

Game drive in Ruaha

Game drive in Ruaha

Wake up for early morning game drive then later you will drive back at the banda for breakfast. After breakfast you will have full day game drive to explore the beautiful of the park, with its full of rocky, kopjes and ancient baobab trees.

A fine network of game viewing roads follows the Great Ruaha River and its seasonal tributaries, where during the dry season impala, waterbuck and other antelopes risk their life for a sip of life sustaining water. And the risk is considerable not only from the pride of 20-plus lion that lord over the savannah, but also from the cheetah that stalk the open grassland.

Day 5

Get wild- Walking safari then drive to Mikumi NP

Get wild- Walking safari then drive to Mikumi NP

Wake up early in the morning and start a wilderness walking safari with guidance of an armed ranger which will take two to two and a half hours. Walking safari will give you a particularly intimate feel for African wild. After walking safari you will go back to the banda for breakfast. After breakfast start driving to Mikumi National Park with game drive en route on the direction to the exit gate. Lunch will be on the way. Arrive late evening in Mikumi NP. Dinner and overnight will be at Mikumi Bastian Camp.
