Safari Starts from Arusha - Drive to Tarangire National Park

After breakfast, you will be picked up from your accommodation in Arusha or the airport and head straight to Tarangire NP.

Tarangire is a national park in the Manyara region. The name of the park originates from the Tarangire River that crosses the park.

It ranks as the 6th-largest national park in Tanzania and covers an area of 2,600 square kilometers. The Tarangire NP is most popular for its large elephant herds and is usually very dry, drier than the Serengeti in fact. However, its vegetation is much greener with lots of elephant grass, vast areas with mixed acacia woodlands and some of the wonderful ribbons of the aquatic forest. The giant baobab trees can live up to 600 years, storing between 300 and 900 liters of water.

In the afternoon you will break for lunch. After lunch, the game drive continues until you start driving to your lodge. You now have time to relax, dine, swim and relive the memories of the day.

Proceed to Serengeti National Park

After breakfast, you will be picked up and depart to Serengeti via the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. On the way, you will enjoy scenic views of Tanzania. You can exit the vehicle to view the Ngorongoro Crater and experience the Serengeti plains.

Serengeti National Park is a World Heritage Site teeming with wildlife. Over 2 million ungulates, 4,000 lions, 1,000 leopards, 550 cheetahs and some 500 bird species inhabit an area close to 15,000 square kilometers in size.

Today, most visitors come here with one aim alone; to witness millions of wildebeest, zebra, gazelle and eland on a mass trek to quench their thirst for water and eat fresh grass. During this great cyclical movement, these ungulates move around the ecosystem in a seasonal pattern, defined by rainfall and grass nutrients.

Lunch will be offered on the vehicle during the safari. By late afternoon, you will arrive at your designated lodge to rest, dine and cherish the great moments during the safari.

Game Drive at Serengeti National Park

Game Drive at Serengeti National Park

Today, you will have a full-day game drive. After an early breakfast at your lodge in Serengeti, you resume from where you left off the previous day. Our experienced safari guide will accompany you and strive to find the Big 5 animals in their natural habitat.

The magic of Serengeti National Park is not easy to describe in words. Not only seeing, but also hearing the buzz of millions of wildebeest so thick in the air that it vibrates through your entire body, is something you will try to describe to friends and family, before realizing it’s impossible. Vistas of honey-lit plains at sunset are so beautiful, it’s worth the trip just to witness this.

You will carry your packed lunch which you will enjoy when making a pit stop in your safari vehicle. After lunch, you continue with the game drive.

By late afternoon, you will head back to your lodge to rest, dine and cherish the wonderful moments.

Game Drive at Ngorongoro Crater

Although this will be the last day of your safari, there will still be a lot of game drives to experience. You will start the day immediately after breakfast at your lodge in Serengeti. After check-out from the lodge, you head straight into the Ngorongoro Crater whilst enjoying a game drive en-route.

The Ngorongoro Crater is the world’s largest intact and unfilled volcanic caldera, and is indeed the flagship tourist attraction of the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. The vast, volcanic crater is home to the Big 5 animals (elephant, lion, leopard, buffalo, rhino). Huge herds of wildebeests and zebras traverse its plains during their annual migration. Around mid-day, you stop and enjoy your lunch.

By late afternoon, you bid goodbye to the crater and start your journey back to Arusha. You'll be dropped off at your accommodation in Arusha or head straight to the airport by the evening.
