Your day starts early with a drive into Ngorongoro Conservation Area, where you’ll descend into the crater at sunrise for a truly breathtaking experience. Spend the morning immersed in wildlife, with spectacular landscapes and animal sightings at every turn. After an incredible day on the crater floor, you’ll ascend back up and head to Ngedere Lodge for a well-deserved evening of relaxation.

Ngorongoro Crater is truly one of the world’s natural wonders. Spanning 102 square miles with towering 2,000-foot walls, it’s often called Africa’s “Noah’s Ark,” holding nearly every species native to East Africa. This is one of the few places where you can see the rare black rhino in the wild, and it’s also home to some of the continent’s largest elephants, with their remarkable, long tusks. The crater floor is a mix of river channels, swamps, a flamingo-filled soda lake, dense forest, and open plains.
