After breakfast, you will be picked up from your accommodation in Arusha or the airport, and head straight to Tarangire National Park in the Manyara Region. Ranking as the 6th largest national park in Tanzania and covering an area of 2,600 square kilometres, it is most popular for its large elephant herds and is usually very dry, in fact, drier than the Serengeti.

However, its vegetation is much greener with lots of grass, vast areas with mixed acacia woodlands and some of the wonderful ribbons of the aquatic forest. Also, giant baobab trees that can live up to 600 years storing between 300 and 900 litres of water are here.

In the afternoon, you will break for lunch.

After lunch, the game drive continues until sunset when you will drive back to your lodge. There, you will relax, dine, swim and relive the memories you collected during the day.

Over 2 million ungulates, 4,000 lions, 1,000 leopards, 550 cheetahs and some 500 bird species inhabit an area close to 15,000 square kilometres in size. On this day, you will witness millions of wildebeests, zebras, gazelles and eland on a mass trek to quench their thirst for water and to eat fresh grass. During this great cyclical movement, these ungulates move around the ecosystem in a seasonal pattern, defined by rainfall and grass nutrients.

Lunch will be offered on the vehicle during the safari. By late afternoon, you will arrive at your designated lodge to rest, dine and cherish the greatest moments you gathered during the safari.

After taking breakfast, you will have a full-day game drive in the Northern part of Serengeti National Park to witness the great migration. The great migration is the world's longest overland migration. The complete migration route is around 800 km (500 miles). South of this migration route covers the Ngorongoro Conservation Area where around half a million wildebeests are born between January and March.

By March, at the beginning of the dry season, roughly 1.5 million wildebeests and 250,000 zebras start to migrate heading north towards Masai Mara. To get to the Masai Mara, the herds have to cross the Grumeti and Mara Rivers where around 3,000 crocodiles lie in wait. For every wildebeest captured by the crocodiles, 50 drown.

You will carry your packed lunch which you will enjoy when making a pit stop in your safari vehicle. After lunch, you continue with the game drive.
