Day 2

Arusha to Tarangire National Park

Your Kilimanjaro On Foot safari guide will pick you up from your accommodation after breakfast. Today, you'll drive to Tarangire National Park, a journey of about two and a half hours on well-maintained tarmac roads. The park, named after the Tarangire River which meanders through it, is a crucial water source for wildlife during the dry season. Renowned for its large elephant herds that frequently gather by the river, Tarangire is also home to giraffes, bushbucks, and hartebeests, all of which attract a variety of predators such as lions and leopards. The park boasts the highest concentration of breeding bird species in the world and is dotted with ancient Baobab trees, some believed to be over a thousand years old.

Lunch will be enjoyed at a picnic spot within the park. Following your game drive, you'll travel to your accommodation in Karatu.

Day 3

Karatu to Central Serengeti National Park

Karatu to Central Serengeti National Park

After breakfast, you'll head into the cooler regions of the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, where you'll have the chance to take in the stunning Ngorongoro Crater. From there, you'll proceed through the conservation area and make your way into the southern section of the Serengeti National Park.

The Serengeti is renowned for its stunning expanse of open grasslands, which provide fantastic wildlife viewing opportunities. While it's famous for its abundant wildlife, it is especially celebrated for the annual Great Migration. During this incredible event, massive herds of wildebeests, zebras, and antelopes traverse the plains in search of fresh grazing. Depending on your timing, you might witness this spectacular migration, often considered one of the 'Seven Wonders of the Natural World.'

You'll enjoy a picnic lunch and spend the night at a luxury tented camp in Central Serengeti.

This full day is dedicated to game drives in the Serengeti, where you'll explore the rich tapestry of wildlife that the park has to offer. You'll have the chance to see a variety of animals including impalas, buffaloes, crocodiles, and hippos. Alongside the iconic landscapes, there's a good possibility of encountering predators such as lions, cheetahs, and leopards, making for a truly unforgettable experience.

You can choose to embark on early morning and late afternoon game drives, with a return to the camp for lunch. Alternatively, you might opt for a full day of exploration with a picnic lunch enjoyed within the park.

Day 5

Serengeti to Ngorongoro Crater

After breakfast, you'll make your way toward Ngorongoro Crater, taking in the breathtaking scenery along the journey.

Ngorongoro Crater, nestled within steep volcanic walls, is a pristine wilderness featuring expansive savannahs, patches of acacia woodland, shimmering lakes, and swamps. Formed when a massive volcano erupted and collapsed in on itself two to three million years ago, the crater is a remarkable geological formation.

Descending into the crater is an adventure in itself. Once on the floor, you'll find yourself surrounded by an abundance of wildlife, including wildebeests, zebras, gazelles, and over 500 species of birds. The crater is also one of the best places to spot the endangered black rhino, which may occasionally be seen grazing in the open grasslands.

After a rewarding afternoon of exploration, you'll drive to your accommodation in Karatu for the night.

After morning breakfast, you'll set off for Lake Manyara National Park, your final destination on this incredible safari adventure! Located 120 km west of Arusha, Lake Manyara is a compact yet diverse park. Despite its small size, the park offers grand vistas, with the Great Rift Escarpment dominating the western edge.

Lake Manyara, is a shallow, saline lake that varies in size with the seasons, creating a dynamic landscape. It's home to thousands of wading birds, including flamingos, as well as over 500 other bird species. In addition to birdwatching, you might spot baboons and elephants in the lush evergreen forests. The park is also known for its tree-climbing lions, a rare and fascinating sight.
