Arusha to Ngorongoro Crater

After an early breakfast, you will begin your journey to the breathtaking Ngorongoro Conservation Area. You will ascend the crater and start to enjoy your first game drive within the crater.

The Ngorongoro Crater, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, formed when a volcano exploded and collapsed in on itself 2-3 million years ago. With its 2,000-foot high walls, very few animals migrate in and out of the crater, making it an area with one of the highest concentrations of wild animals in the world. You’ll be searching for lions, elephants, giraffes, zebras, buffaloes, hippos, flamingos, jackals, antelopes and many rare birds. This is also your best chance to see rhinos. You might even get to see the “Big Five” in one day.

You'll stop for a picnic lunch at one of the many scenic spots on the crater floor. In the late afternoon, you will ascend the Ngorongoro Crater. Head to your lodge, perched on the edge of the crater rim, to spend the evening relaxing and enjoying your dinner and overnight.

Ngorongoro Conservation to Serengeti National Park

Today after breakfast, you will depart to Serengeti National Park. It is one of the most scenic drives in Tanzania. Along the way, you can see Maasai warriors grazing cattle and, depending on the time of year, you may witness what makes up the largest mass migration of animals on earth. This is when huge herds of wildebeests, gazelles and zebras move clockwise to find better grazing areas.

Before entering the Serengeti National Park, you will have an option to visit a traditional Maasai village and experience how this ancient tribe has lived for hundreds of years. Upon arrival in the park, you will drive to your camp for dinner and overnight stay.

Full Day in Serengeti National Park

The endless plains of the Serengeti…

Today, you will have an early breakfast and depart around 06h30 in search of the big cats returning from their night’s hunting or animals waking up in the early dawn. You may also opt to carry your breakfast boxes and make a brief stop for a bush breakfast to enjoy the sunrise.

Next, your driver will continue to look for prides of lions, as well as other cats like cheetahs and leopards, all in abundance in the Serengeti. You will learn about the history of the park as we pass by the Information Centre in the Seronera area before returning to your lodge for a relaxed lunch and cold drinks.

Later in the afternoon, when the sun is less intense, you have the option to go on an early evening game drive or a nature walk around the camp with the resident tribesmen (highly recommended). They will be happy to share their knowledge of the region's plants and animals.

In the evening, you will drive back to your camp for dinner and an overnight stay.

Fly from Serengeti National Park to Kilimanjaro International Airport

Enjoy breakfast with views over the stunning Serengeti plains before your departure. Our driver-guide will drive you to the Seronera airstrip, located in the Central area of the Serengeti.

You will take a flight at 09h30 back to Kilimanjaro International Airport for your homebound flight.
