Day 1

Moshi - Tarangire National Park

Moshi - Tarangire National Park

In the morning, we will pick you up from your hotel in Moshi and drive you to Tarangire National Park. The park is known for its huge baobab trees and large herds of elephants. Its sparse vegetation makes it a beautiful and special location, where up to 300 elephants can be found looking for underground streams in the dry riverbeds. Migratory wildebeest, zebra, and buffalo can also be seen crowding the shrinking lagoons. You will enjoy an afternoon game drive with a picnic lunch.

Today, you drive to one of the most famous game parks in Africa, the Serengeti! It is known to host the most amazing wildlife spectacle on earth, the great migration. Over 1 million wildebeest, zebra, and gazelle head to and from the Mara River and the Ngorongoro Highlands in search of fresh grass and water. Other popular wild animals include the Big Five (elephant, lion, buffalo, leopard, and rhino) and many other predators such as cheetah, wild dog, jackal, and hyena, to name but a few. Serengeti also inhabits over 350 species of birds, both migratory and resident. Enjoy an awesome game drive and in the evening, you will have a shower, dinner, and overnight.

This morning, after enjoying a beautiful Serengeti sunrise, depart early for a morning game drive in the Serengeti National Park. After brunch, drive to the Ngorongoro Crater. On your way, you have the option to visit Olduvai Gorge, the home of our earliest ancestors and the most famous archaeological site in East Africa. Thereafter, make your way to the Ngorongoro Crater. You will spend the night on top of the crater rim, granting you a rewarding view of the crater floor. Before dinner is served, enjoy awesome views of the crater below.

Ngorongoro Crater - Moshi

Today, you’ll rise early in the morning to descend the 600m-high walls to the floor of the crater. Get up close with one of Africa’s Seven Natural Wonders! Listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, it is considered one of the most beautiful and unique places in Africa. Here, you will find a haven of African wildlife with a diversity of habitats and with a high chance of witnessing the endangered rhino and other Big Five animals. Enjoy a game drive and lunch at the Hippo Pool picnic site. In the late afternoon, depart to Moshi where you will prepare for your flight back home or your journey to Zanzibar.
