2 travelers on Start dateTransfer to Kibale National Park
We will depart from Kampala after breakfast and head westward to Fort Portal town. The drive will take about 4 -5 hours. We will have lunch in Fort Portal and continue to Kibale where you will go for either a community walk or visit the beautiful crater lakes region for a spectacular view. This is a guided, not-to-be-missed swamp walk that takes you closer to seeing primates (mostly monkeys, birds, and butterflies). This 2½ to 3-hour walk is a must for bird lovers. The walk is almost as popular as the Kibale Forest walk. You will need good walking shoes as part of the walk is sometimes muddy. Hopefully, you will spot the elusive sitatunga antelope and the shoebill stork.
You will meet some of the primates here, maybe even a chimpanzee. Other primate species include the black-and-white colobus monkey, grey-cheeked mangabey, red-tailed monkey, L’Hoest’s monkey, blue monkey, and olive baboon. Bushbuck, mongoose, and many more can also be found here.
