Day 1

Nairobi to Amboseli National Park

Nairobi to Amboseli National Park

You will be met at the airport or your Nairobi hotel by our office representative, who will brief you about the safari itinerary and Kenya in general. He will then introduce you to your safari guide, who will be with you throughout your safari. Your guide will assist in loading your luggage in the 4x4 safari Land Cruiser before driving you to the outskirts of Nairobi. You also get to see the countryside.

You will arrive in Amboseli in time for lunch, followed by a short siesta either in your room or at the pool, or you can hang around the lounge and watch animals as they come to drink water at the waterhole in front of the lounge. If the weather permits, you will also have a chance to see Mount Kilimanjaro from the lodge. At 16h00, enjoy an afternoon safari in the park with chances to see herds of elephants, buffaloes, Massai giraffes, impalas, and gazelles, among other animals. Return to the lodge after sunset for dinner and overnight.

Exploring Amboseli National Park - The Land of the Gentle Giants

Wake up early and enjoy a morning safari with a chance to see the big cats, such as lions and cheetahs, while still active. You will also get a chance to see big herds of elephants coming from the mountains and heading towards the swamp where they spend their day. Then, you will drive back to the lodge later for breakfast. You will have a free mid-morning in the lodge, followed by another afternoon safari after lunch until sunset. Drive back to the lodge after sunset for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 3

Amboseli to Lake Nakuru National Park

Enjoy breakfast in the lodge, then check out and drive to Lake Nakuru National Park, with a stopover at the Great Rift Valley Escarpment for a photo session. Drive down the valley to arrive in Lake Nakuru in time for lunch. Enjoy an afternoon safari in the park, with chances to see both black and white rhinos, flamingoes, buffaloes, pelicans, cormorants, the rare Rothschild's giraffes, and elands, among other animals. Return to the lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 4

Lake Nakuru to Masai Mara National Reserve

Enjoy breakfast in the lodge and then check out. Have a short safari where you may see something that you may have missed on the previous day. Exit the park later and drive to the famous Masai Mara National Reserve. As your camp is located deep inside the park, you will enjoy game viewing as you head to the camp to arrive in time for lunch. Have a short siesta in the camp, or take a dip at the pool or sit at the lounge and enjoy views of hippos in the Mara River just next to the camp. You will then have an afternoon safari in the reserve with chances to see lions, cheetahs, giraffes, elands, impalas, waterbucks, topis and sometimes leopards and black rhinos, among other animals. Return to the camp after sunset for dinner and an overnight stay.

Exploring Masai Mara National Reserve - The Land of the Big Cats

This day will be spent exploring the reserve with morning and afternoon safaris in the reserve, or you can opt to take a full-day safari with lunch boxes taken from the camp to get more time for safari. Your guide will show you a perfect point to have lunch under a tree as you view the savannah. Masai Mara is a vast 1,510 square kilometer savannah grassland, and no matter where you drive in this reserve, you are sure to see animals. It is also famous for the migration of between 1 to 2 million wildebeests that cross the Mara River from Serengeti in Tanzania to Masai Mara every year between July and October. Later, you will return to the camp for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 6

Masai Mara to Nairobi

Masai Mara to Nairobi

On this day, you will have breakfast, then check out of the lodge and depart for Nairobi, passing breathtaking views of the Great Rift Valley. You will be dropped off at your Nairobi hotel or the airport for your flight home.

In addition to the wildlife, the park is home to the community of Maasai warriors. Their bravery is known the world over in their battles with the animals of the savannah, and they welcome you into their culture with traditional song and dance. You have a chance to witness their culture and visit a home to better understand their extraordinary way of life. This visit is optional, and there is an extra fee of US$30 applicable.

Optional activities on this day can include a half-day city tour, a cultural experience at the Bomas of Kenya, and dinner at The Carnivore Restaurant for exotic meals (to be paid for directly).
