Arrival and Sunset Cruise

Upon your arrival at Victoria Falls International Airport (VFA), you will be picked up and transferred to your accommodation. It is important that you provide us with your flight details beforehand, as the collection time will depend on your arrival time at Victoria Falls Airport. A sunset cruise is included in your itinerary. Pick-up times will be 3:30pm in winter and 4:00pm in summer. You will cruise along the banks of the river, sailing up the mighty Zambezi River as the sun sets. You will have the opportunity to observe birds flocking to the waters and watch animals arrive for their last drink of the day, all while enjoying tasty finger foods and a full open bar.

Hwange National Park from Victoria Falls

Pick-up from the hotel is at 6:30am. Please arrange for a packed breakfast with the hotel. The Hwange day trip will take you through rural villages with traditional huts, rural hospitals, schools, and churches, and the highlight of the drive will be the Hwange Colliery, which exports large amounts of coal worldwide. Upon arrival, you will change vehicles to a 4x4 game drive vehicle, and an experienced guide will take you for a full-day game drive. Beautiful hides are strategically built, providing magnificent views of the animals and nature. After the first game drive, you will be taken to a picnic area for lunch. As the sun's heat cools down, most animals head for the water holes, and in pursuit of game, we go on our second game drive. The best game viewing is towards sunset when the wildlife tends to flock towards watering holes. The Hwange day trip ends around 4:00pm. After the trip, you will be transferred back to Victoria Falls.

Guided Tour of the Falls and Night Game Drive and Bush dinner

On the third day, the morning will start with a pick-up at 9:00am from the hotel reception for a guided tour of Victoria Falls. A driver-guide will pick you up and take you through parts of the Victoria Falls rainforest to the cliffs opposite the massive cascade. At 4:00pm, you will be taken to a private reserve approximately 11km (7mi) from the town center. Here, you will enjoy a late afternoon game drive until sunset, meandering in an open, well-kitted 4x4 vehicle through a changing landscape of scenic basalt plains to the Kalahari sands and teak forests of the Nakavango Private Game Reserve. At sunset, you will stop at a splendid vantage point to enjoy some drinks and snacks, stretch your legs, and chat about the afternoon's adventures with fellow travelers. As dusk falls, the spotlight comes out to allow you to see what happens at night in the African bush. The three-course BBQ meal is complemented by wine, cold beer, and light refreshments.

After the wonderful adventure, transfers back to Victoria Falls International Airport (VFA) will be provided. Pick-up times depend on your flight details. Cuckoo Safaris normally picks up clients two hours before the departure time.
