Day 1

Drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park

Drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park

This morning, we will depart from Kampala and head westwards through Uganda’s beautiful green countryside to Queen Elizabeth National Park. This will include a lunch stop in Mbarara. Thereafter, we continue through the savannah grasslands with lots of banana plantations and several local, long-horned Ankole cows indigenous to this part of the country.

Day 2

Chimpanzee Tracking Experience

You will wake up early for breakfast and thereafter proceed to Kalinzu Forest Reserve. After a short briefing by one of the park staff, you will be allocated a guide who will lead you into the forest to find the chimpanzees. Afterward, you will head back to your lodge and enjoy the rest of your day at leisure.

Day 3

Drive to Bwindi Forest National Park

Drive to Bwindi Forest National Park

Today we will set off to Bwindi via Ishasha, the southern sector of Queen Elizabeth National Park, where we will be on the lookout for the tree-climbing lions. We can expect to see a number of elephants, buffaloes, lions, waterbucks, Uganda kobs, leopards, and hyenas as we proceed to Bwindi Forest National Park.

Day 4

Gorilla Trekking Experience & Lake Bunyonyi Kabale

Gorilla Trekking Experience & Lake Bunyonyi Kabale

This day is always regarded as the highlight of the safari. After breakfast, you will head to the park headquarters, arriving no later than 7:30 am. Here you will join other visitors for a briefing by one of the park staff. You will then meet with the lead guide who will take you into the forest to find the gorilla family that you will be allocated to. This may take between 2- 7 hours round trip, depending on how long the family you are trekking will have moved from where it was last seen. And after this, you will proceed to Lake Bunyonyi where you will spend your evening at leisure enjoying the beautiful views of the lake.

Day 5

Drive to Entebbe

Drive to Entebbe

After breakfast, you will depart from Bwindi and proceed to Kampala or Entebbe with a lunch stop in Mbarara. You will also stop at the equator for photos and some shopping for souvenirs. You then continue to either Kampala or Entebbe to catch your flight back home. This will mark the end of your memorable safari of a lifetime.
