Zanzibar to Nyerere National Park (Part of the formerly Selous Game Reserve)

In the morning, you'll be picked up from your hotel in Zanzibar and transferred to the airport for your 30-minute flight set at 6:00 to Nyerere National Park (formerly Selous Game Reserve). Upon arrival at Mtemere Airstrip, you will be transferred to your accommodation for breakfast

After breakfast, you’ll have a full day of game viewing in Nyerere National Park/Selous Game Reserve taking a packed lunch with you to maximize your game drive time. You will have a picnic lunch break from a safe vantage point for a chance to spot the images of your dreams ranging from beautiful scenery to fascinating views of wildlife, in a natural habitat.

You may expect to see diverse wildlife which includes elephant, buffalo, giraffe, zebra, eland, kudu, wildebeest, antelope, lion, leopard, rare wild dog, jackal, and an amazing array of colorful birds.

Village Tour, Culture and Boat Safari in the Mighty Rufiji River

This day at 9:30 AM, you will go for a village tour and explore the local area, see the daily lives of local people, and learn about the local culture. After the village tour, return to the camp for lunch at 13:00 PM.

After the hot lunch, in the afternoon at around 15:45, depart for an adventurous and romantic evening sunset boat safari along the great Rufiji River. This trip offers an opportunity to spot the abundant birdlife, hippos, and crocodiles while enjoying the spectacular sundown. Your guide will also be able to point out interesting birds and plant species during this trip. After the boat safari, return to your accommodation for dinner and your overnight stay.

Nyerere National Park (Part of the formerly Selous Game Reserve) to Zanzibar Island

This day in the early morning at around 6:30 AM, you will go for a bush walking tour with bushmen and see interesting plants and animal species as well as enjoy nature and landscapes. After 2 hours of walking, return to the camp for breakfast. After breakfast, you can visit a Maasai Boma for cultural activities at minimal additional costs.

After lunch, and depending on the flight time your driver guide will take you to Selous Mtemere Airstrip for your flight back to Zanzibar Island. Once arrive at Zanzibar Airport your transfer driver will take you back to your Hotel. It’s been an amazing trip and you’ll have some incredible photos and stories to share with your friends and family back home.
