2-Day Zanzibar to Selous, Nyerere National Park

Zanzibar to Nyerere National Park (Part of the formerly Selous Game Reserve)

In the morning, you'll be picked up from your hotel in Zanzibar and transferred to the airport for your 30-minute flight to Nyerere National Park (part of the formerly Selous Game Reserve). Upon arrival at Selous Mtemere Airstrip, you will meet your driver guide and be transferred to Nyerere Tented Camp for a full breakfast. The Camp is found just a few minute's drive from the Airstrip.

After breakfast, you will spend a full day of game viewing in Nyerere National Park taking a packed lunch with you to maximize your game drive time. You will have a picnic lunch break from a safe vantage point for a chance to spot the images of your dreams ranging from beautiful scenery to fascinating views of wildlife, in a natural habitat. After the extensive game drives return to your accommodation for dinner and your overnight stay.

Nyerere National Park (Part of the formerly Selous Game Reserve) to Zanzibar Island

This day in the early morning at around 6:30 AM, you will go for a bush walking tour with bushmen and see interesting plants and animal species as well as enjoy nature and landscapes. After 2 hours of walking, return to the camp for breakfast.

At around 10:30, depart for an adventurous boat safari along the great Rufiji River. This trip offers an opportunity to spot the abundant birdlife, hippos, and crocodiles while enjoying the spectacular landscapes. Your guide will also be able to point out interesting birds and plant species during this trip. After the boat safari, return to your accommodation for hot lunch at around 13:00, then depending on the flight time your driver guide will take you to Selous Mtemere Airstrip for your flight back to Zanzibar Island.

Once arrived at Zanzibar Airport your transfer driver will take you back to your Hotel. It’s been an amazing trip and you’ll have some incredible photos and stories to share with your friends and family back home.
