Dar-es-Salaam to Nyerere National Park (Formerly Selous Game Reserve)

In the morning at around 7:30, you’ll be picked up from your hotel in Dar es Salaam and drive to Nyerere National Park arriving in time for a hot lunch. In the afternoon at around 3:45 pm, you will depart for an adventurous and romantic sunset boat safari along the great Rufiji River.

This trip offers an opportunity to spot the abundant birdlife, hippos, and crocodiles while enjoying the spectacular sundown. Your guide will also be able to point out interesting birds and plant species during this trip. After the boat safari, you will return to your accommodation for dinner and your overnight stay.

Full-Day Game Drive in Nyerere National Park (Formerly Selous Game Reserve)

This day after breakfast you’ll have a full day of game viewing in Nyerere National Park (part of the formerly Selous Game Reserve) taking a packed lunch with you to maximize your game drive time. You will have a picnic lunch break from a safe vantage point for a chance to spot the images of your dreams ranging from beautiful scenery to fascinating views of wildlife, in a natural habitat.

You may expect to see diverse wildlife which includes elephants, buffalos, giraffes, zebras, elands, kudus, wildebeests, antelopes, lions, leopards, rare wild dogs, jackals, and an amazing array of colorful birds.

Another Game Drive in Nyerere National Park (Formerly Selous Game Reserve)

This morning after breakfast, you’ll have another full day of game viewing in Nyerere National Park (part of the formerly Selous Game Reserve), taking a packed lunch to maximize your game drive time. This will be another special day spent exploring the wilderness and viewing diverse wildlife.

Nyerere National Park (part of the formerly Selous Game Reserve) to Zanzibar Island

This day in the early morning, you will go for a nature hike/bushwalk tour with bushmen and see exciting plants and animal species and enjoy nature and landscapes. After 2 hours of walking, you will return to the camp for a full breakfast.

At 11:00 am, you will go for a 2-hour village tour and explore the local area, see the daily lives of local people, and learn about the local culture. After the village tour, you will return to the camp for lunch at 3:30 pm, then depending on the flight time your driver guide will take you to Selous Mtemere Airstrip for your flight back to Zanzibar Island.

Once you arrive at Zanzibar Airport, your transfer driver will take you back to your hotel. It’s been an amazing trip and you’ll have some incredible photos and stories to share with your friends and family back home.
