Arrive in Uganda | Murchison Falls National Park | Top of the Falls

Arrive in Uganda | Murchison Falls National Park | Top of the Falls

Upon arrival in Uganda, you will be picked up by our Kubwa Five Safaris representative at Entebbe International Airport. Look for a sign with your name printed on an A4 paper. You will then be transferred to Murchison Falls National Park. Once there, the vehicle will leave you near the falls, and you can hike from the top to the bottom. It is an exciting experience that brings you very close to the rushing whitewater as it squeezes itself through the narrow crevice below. The resulting mist from the turbulence often produces rainbows. After the hike, dinner and overnight accommodation will be provided at Parkside Safari Lodge.

Balloon Safari (Optional Activity) | Morning Game Drive | Boat Cruise | Birding | Evening Game Drive

We highly recommend that travelers book the hot-air balloon safari in advance to secure a spot, as we have limited capacity and this exclusive adventure is often fully booked. The price is $350 per person. The safari can be organized early in the morning on the scheduled day before proceeding with the regular program.

The morning will begin with a 5:45am departure for a game drive on the Northern Delta Nile. The drive will include activities like bird watching and sightseeing across the open savannah, dotted woodland, and riverine vegetation along the Nile and Albert Delta. Following the game drive, you will return to the hotel for an early lunch.

At 2:00pm, a three-hour boat cruise on the Nile will begin.

In the evening, an additional game drive will be conducted to spot any animals that may have been missed during the morning game drive. Dinner and overnight accommodation will be provided at the Parkside Safari Lodge.

Travel to Fort Portal | Explore the Kyaninga Crater Lakes

After breakfast, you travel from Murchison Falls National Park, driving southwest through the Albertine Escarpment of the great Western Rift Valley. You will drive through Hoima, then Kyejonjo district and reach the colorful and beautiful town of Fort Portal, the capital of the Tooro kingdom, situated in the shadow of the fabled 'Mountains of the Moon,' the Rwenzori. You will either have lunch on your way or at Kyaninga Lodge.

After lunch, you will explore Kyaninga. You will have a walk at the edge of a rare twinned-volcanic crater lake. Kyaninga offers spectacular walks right on your doorstep. You can also walk down to the lake through the 'land that time forgot' forest at Kyaninga. Additionally, you can tour the local villages and gain a fascinating insight into rural Ugandan life. A little further and you can take a walk up to the escarpment of the Great Rift Valley itself and stare in wonder as East Africa opens up beneath you. Dinner and overnight at Tooro Royal Cottages.

Chimpanzee Trekking | Visit the Sempaya Hot Springs

The chimpanzee tracking will begin early and typically takes about two to three hours, depending on their location. After the chimpanzee trekking, you will return to the resort for lunch and then head to the Sempaya Hot Springs, a main attraction of the park and the highlight of our safari. At the springs, you can witness water boiling using natural forces. The strength and heat of the springs are incredible, allowing you to boil eggs and cook matooke in just a few minutes.

Visit Amabere Ga Nyina Mwiru | Travel to Queen Elizabeth National Park | Boat Ride | Game Drive

After breakfast, visit the Amabere Ga Nyina Mwiru Caves and the three surrounding explosion crater lakes. This is a fascinating day outing while staying in Fort Portal. A side trip to the Amabere Caves and the three nearby crater lakes involves hiking, learning about the local culture and legends, and enjoying a hike around three crater lakes.

Once you have visited the Amabere Ga Nyina Mwiru Caves, your next destination is Queen Elizabeth National Park. This large park is where wildlife and people coexist in harmony. During your visit to Queen Elizabeth National Park, you can enjoy a boat cruise on the Kazinga Channel, which connects Lakes Edward and George. Some of the best wildlife sightings take place during a boat cruise along the Kazinga Channel, where you spot squacco herons, pied kingfishers, large numbers of buffalo and hippo, basking crocodiles, and a variety of bird species and large mammals.
