Nairobi to Samburu

Pick up from your Nairobi Hotel or at the airport by our driver guide who will brief you on your safari and drive north to Samburu National Reserve to arrive in time for lunch at Samburu Simba lodge. After lunch proceed for an afternoon game drive in the park famous as the place for the Samburu semi-nomadic tribesmen, the special five that is reticulated giraffe, the Grevy's zebra gerenuk, Beisa Oryx and a host of the big game including elephant and lion. Dinner and overnight at the Lodge.

Samburu National Reserve

Full day spent in the park with a morning game drive after breakfast drive back to the hotel for lunch and later an afternoon game drive. Samburu is home to the third of Kenya's giraffe species - the rare Reticulated Giraffe (only found in the Northern parks). This is also where you see the blue-legged Somali Ostrich, the long-necked Gerenuk gazelle and the straight-horned Beisa Oryx antelope. Dinner and overnight Samburu Simba lodge.

Samburu to Nairobi

Breakfast will be served as from 0630 hrs. Depart by 0730 hrs and drive back to Nairobi arriving in the early afternoon at Carnivore Restaurant where farewell lunch today will be served. The Carnivore is justifiably referred to as Africa’s Greatest Eating Experience. Twice voted amongst the world’s 50 best restaurants by UK based Restaurant magazine, the Carnivore is an amazing open-air meat specialty restaurant that has strikingly different food service and atmosphere to any other restaurant in Kenya. Whole joints of meat - legs of lamb and pork, haunches of exotic meat, rumps of beef, sirloins, racks of lamb, spare ribs, sausages, chicken wings, skewered kidneys, even crocodile, and other tasty morsels - are roasted on traditional Maasai swords over a huge, visually spectacular charcoal pit that dominates the entrance of the restaurant. Thereafter, drop off at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport in time for your flight.
