Travel to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

The trip begins in Kampala, where you will be picked up from your hotel. Our knowledgeable driver-guide will accompany you throughout the journey as you travel to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. The drive from Kampala to Bwindi takes approximately nine hours, offering a comfortable ride with stunning views.

We will stop at the Equator for photo opportunities and a water experiment. Additionally, we will stop for lunch in Mbarara town. After lunch, we will continue directly to the park, arriving in the evening for dinner and an overnight stay.

Gorilla Trekking and Batwa Community Visit

Gorilla tracking begins at 8:00am with a briefing at the park headquarters led by a local ranger guide. After the briefing, you will set off to the park with your packed lunch. At the headquarters, you will be divided into groups of eight trekkers, which is the maximum number allowed to visit a gorilla family each day.

The trekking can last anywhere from 1 to 6 hours as you navigate the impenetrable forest, depending on the gorillas' movements and the pace of the trekkers. Once you locate the gorilla family, you will spend one magical hour observing them in their natural habitat, learning about their behaviors and lifestyles.

After enjoying lunch and some relaxation, you will visit the Batwa community in the evening. The Batwa were the original inhabitants of the impenetrable forest before being resettled outside the park. During this visit, you will experience traditional performances and engage closely with the local people.
