Day 2

Tarangire National Park [Full Board]

Tarangire National Park [Full Board]

After breakfast you will be collected by your driver guide to Tarangire National Park taking picnic lunches. Among many aspects of animal behavior, your guide will point out the fascinating way elephants have communicating with subtle interactions. This park is famous for it's giant baobao trees, large herds of elephants, plains game and predators. Early evening drive to accommodation arriving in time for dinner and overnight at Sangaiwe Tented Camp.

Day 3

Tarangire National Park/ Manyara National Park/Karatu [Full Board]

After breakfast drive to Lake Manyara National Park via the south route taking picnic lunches, the route takes you south on the main road to the capital of Tanzania [Dodoma] until you turn off at the village of Mbuyu wa Mgerumani [a reminder of one time colonial German rule]. Moving west the great rift valley escarpment wall looms up with the highlands above feeding a wetland that now is farmed for rice. Farmers work the rice paddies and livestock graze on the roadside and you will pass a succession of small picturesque farming village at the foot of the rift scarp. During the game drive you will understand why this is where part of "Out of Africa" was filmed. Day spent game viewing in this park which boast rich groundwater forest, lakeside grassland and an abundant variety of trees and shrubs. Late afternoon depart the park and drive to the Karatu arriving in the evening at Pamoja Farm Lodge for dinner and overnight.

After breakfast drive to Ngorongoro and descend in to the crater floor where you will spend a remarkable full day in one of the most phenomenal place in Africa, a collapsed volcano, once as high as present day Mount Meru. It's an animal paradise. See some of the world largest elephants, large prides of lions, big herds of plains animals like zebras and wildebeest. The crater is the last place in Africa where free - ranging black rhino can possibly be seen. Picnic lunches inside the crater. As the sun sets, ascend to the rim and drive back to Arusha to continue with your onward plans.
