Upon arrival at the airport (Kilimanjaro JRO or Arusha ARK), you will be met by a Safari Africa United’s representative who will drive you to your lodgings in Arusha for an overnight stay, awaiting your adventures to start on the following day. Should you arrive early, you might choose to do a city tour in Arusha.

Day 2

Early morning after breakfast at your accommodation in Arusha, you will be picked up by your private driver-guide. Proceed to Tarangire National Park which takes approximately 2 hours.

Tarangire National Park is one of the largest parks of Tanzania and covers an area of 2,600 sq km. Tarangire National Park is most popular for its large elephant herds and giant baobab trees. With more than 300-strong herds of elephants, visitors will also find big groups of buffalos and healthy populations of lions and leopards. During the dry season, Tarangire has the highest concentration of mammals in the country. There are wild dogs and rare antelopes such as gerenuk, plus more than 550 species of birds to spot throughout the year. You will have picnic lunch boxes to enjoy inside the park in the afternoon. After lunch and further game viewing, you will drive straight to your accommodation in Karatu for relaxation, dinner and overnight.

After an early breakfast at around 8:00 am, you will drive straight to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area with a stop at a viewing point. You will then descend into the crater which is 600m deep. The Ngorongoro Crater is a breathtakingly beautiful setting and the best place in East Africa to see the Big 5. It is one of the most beautiful and natural wildlife sites in the world and also an exceptional place to interact with people from the Maasai tribe.

On reaching the crater’s edge, the 20km-diameter caldera opens up before you in all its stunning glory and you will descend into the crater on an adventurous trail. This World Heritage Site is seasonally home to over 25,000 animals including a wide range of bird species, hyena and the endangered black rhino. A hot lunch will be served at a picnic spot at the hippo pool whereafter you will drive straight to the heart of Serengeti National Park. You will have an en-route game drive to your accommodation for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 4

Serengeti National Park to Karatu

Early morning after breakfast at around 8:00 am (or according to your preference), you will continue exploring the endless plains of the Serengeti National Park for a half-day game drive. The Serengeti National Park is home to the largest concentration of wildlife than anywhere else on the planet.

The park offers a multitude of wildlife including the Big 5 (lion, elephant, buffalo, rhino and leopard). A hot lunch will be served inside the park at around 12:30 pm with some soft drinks and unlimited drinking water. You will have a final game drive until the afternoon at around 3 pm when you will head for your accommodation in Karatu, passing through the Ngorongoro Conservation Area for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 5

Lake Manyara National Park / Mto Wa Mbu / Arusha

After an early breakfast, you will drive straight to Lake Manyara National Park which is also known as the home of tree-climbing lions and a birder's paradise. More than 500 bird species are present in Lake Manyara. Other animals that can be found here are giraffe, zebra, hyena, buffalo, hippo, elephant and wildebeest. After game viewing, you will head straight to Mto wa Mbu village for a cultural tour.

Mto wa Mbu is well-known for its large plantations such as banana plantations and rice plantations. Many different tribes with diverse cultures live together in this small area. You will be accompanied by a local guide from the area who will share information about the village. After the village walk, you will have a local lunch prepared by one of the families.

After lunch, you will drive to Arusha (2 hours). On arrival in Arusha, it will be the end of our services from Safari Africa United.
