Kigoma - Mahale National Park

Upon arrival in Kigoma, we pick you up from the airport, railway station, or harbour and transfer you to Mahale National Park. The park is located 128km south of Kigoma town, east of Lake Tanganyika, and is dominated by the Mahale Mountains. You will have a hot lunch and relax until dinner and your overnight stay at Mango Bandas.

Chimpanzee Trekking

After breakfast, you will go chimpanzee trekking in the forest. The hike takes you to the chimps' habitation areas which are accessible. Although the hike is not too strenuous, being in good fitness will ease the strain of walking through the jungle! Up close, observing the endangered primates is a once-in-a-lifetime experience. Later, you will return to your accommodation for dinner and overnight.

Mahale National Park - Kigoma Town

Enjoy breakfast and then continue with the chimpanzee trekking. Later, you will be taken to experience fishing activities while also enjoying the waterbirds around Lake Tanganyika. In the afternoon, you will be transferred to Mwitongo Garden in Kigoma town for dinner and your overnight stay.
