Drive to Bahir Dar and Excursion to the Blue Nile Falls
In the morning, drive to Bahir Dar and transfer to your hotel. Then, after some rest, we depart for Tis Isat Waterfall (Blue Nile Falls), locally known as the Smoke Abay. Previously, the Tis Isat Waterfall was one of the most spectacular waterfalls in Africa, 400m wide when in flood and dropping over a sheer chasm more than 45m deep. You could hear the thunderous noise long before arrival and feel the water spray from kilometers away! But ever since a dam was built upstream, the waterfall has been reduced and has lost some of its former splendor but in the rainy season, it is still impressive. Enjoy a beautiful walk to the waterfall as you experience nature and see various birds. Keep an eye out for parrots, bee-eaters, lovebirds, and turacos.
