The park features a variety of landscapes: expansive savannah plains to the south, hills and woodlands to the west, the kopjes area to the east and bushland to the north. The Seronera, Banagi and Grumeti rivers run through the park.

After breakfast, we will depart at 7:30am for the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, equipped with picnic lunches. We will descend into the impressive 260km² (100mi²) Ngorongoro Crater, where you can observe wildlife on the vast grasslands of the crater floor. The bottom of the crater is dotted with watering holes and shelters, home to nearly 30,000 animals. The volcano's slopes naturally enclose this area, and it is a sanctuary for the Big Five: lion, elephant, buffalo, rhino and leopard.

The Ngorongoro Crater is the largest unbroken caldera in the world. Its steep walls rise 610m (2,000ft) from the floor. The crater is regarded as one of the natural wonders of the world. Due to the consistent availability of grass and water throughout the year, it is a remarkable habitat for wildlife.
