Tarangire National Park is located 115km south of Arusha. It is a long and narrow park that covers 2,850 sq km and runs along the Tarangire River. The name of the park is taken from the river, which is the only source of water for the wild animals that live here during the dry season. The park is famous for its large number of elephants, baobab trees, and tree-climbing African pythons. At the end of the day, we arrive at Farms of dreams Lodge and campsite.

Serengeti National Park
After breakfast, we set out for the drive up the crater highlands. The Ngorongoro caldera was formed about 3 million years ago with the massive explosion of a volcano. Continuing as far as the eye can see, is the vast Serengeti. This 6,900 sq mile park is inhabited by more than 1.5 million wildebeest, 250,000 zebra, and in the region of 500,000 gazelle. January to April is the season when the wildebeest calve with more than a half million young being born.
Large predators including lion, cheetah, and hyena, are drawn to the area by this abundance of prey. Many smaller animals such as the rock hyrax, bat-eared fox, mongoose, honey badger, jackal, monkey, baboon, and African hare, also inhabit this area along with nearly 500 species of birds. After our game drive, we return to the Seronera bush camp for rest and dining. The hyenas, drawn by the sumptuous smells, slink only feet away from us. Our tent, raised on its wooden dias, is ideal to get a good night's sleep.
