Transfer to Volcanoes National Park

You will be greeted and picked up by our friendly driver guide at Kigali International Airport who will take you to and from the gorilla trek. Volcanoes National Park is home to the world's largest population of mountain gorillas. You start with a city tour (if time allows) with a visit to the Genocide Memorial. We then proceed with the drive with breaks for lunch and refreshments.

You'll arrive at the park just before dusk to enjoy a delectable dinner and then retire for the night. The gorilla trekking begins quite early in the morning, so you should keep to your schedule and be well-rested.

Gorilla trekking

Your gorilla-trekking experience will begin in the morning with a hearty breakfast. You then drive to the park headquarters where you will meet the park ranger-guide who will first take you through a briefing about the dos and don'ts while trekking. He will then lead you to the forest to trek the endangered mountain gorillas.

The trekking lasts from an hour to 8 hours, depending on where the gorilla family will be spotted because they keep moving to look for food. You will enjoy listening to the calls of the birds and watching over primates as you search for the endangered mountain gorillas.

Golden monkey trekking and transfer to Kigali

Your golden monkey trekking experience will begin in the morning after a hearty breakfast. You will then drive to the park headquarters where you will meet the park ranger-guide who will first take you through a briefing about the dos and don'ts while trekking. He will then lead you to the forest to trek the monkeys.

The golden monkey trekking lasts from an hour to 5 hours, depending on where the golden monkey family will be spotted because they keep moving to look for food. You will enjoy listening to the calls of the birds and watching over primates as you search for the montane monkeys. After a successful trek, embark on your journey back to Kigali, arriving in time for your connecting flight.
