Road Transfer from Kisumu to Masai Mara National Reserve

You will be picked up from your hotel or guest house in or around Kisumu.

We recommend an early wake-up call and breakfast to ensure an early start for your safari to Kenya's premier national reserve. We aim to leave Kisumu city around 8:00am, beginning our exciting journey to the famous Masai Mara National Reserve.

As we travel, you will see the vibrant life filling the plains, where migratory herds of wildebeest and zebra sweep the grassy landscape. The Mara River, known for its powerful currents, becomes a battleground for crocodiles during hunting season, as the animals brave the river's fierce waters to reach the life-giving grass on the other side.

We suggest that you bring picnic lunch boxes for the journey. This allows for a more relaxed afternoon game drive without returning to the lodge for lunch. We expect to arrive at the reserve by early afternoon and will enjoy our first safari drive on the way to the lodge.

These include game drives, gliding over the plains in a hot air balloon, guided nature walks, bush breakfasts or dinners, enjoying an African sunset on a sundowner outing, visiting a local village, and going on a night game drive.

The Masai Mara National Reserve is the most popular safari destination for tourists. Its popularity stems from the astounding variety of wildlife it offers. It is not uncommon to witness large prides of lions hunting or to see a cheetah sprinting in the distance.
