2 travelers on Start dateArusha to Serengeti NP
The name Serengeti originates from the Masai word Siringitu and means endless plains. You will see why the Masai gave this region this name as the grassland savannah stretches to the horizon in the south and is only interrupted by the so-called kopjes, these kopjes are bizarre rock formations formed by the weathering of granite outcrops.
The plains are the perfect hunting grounds for leopards and other big cats; you will have a good chance to view these magnificent creatures in their natural habitat through the open roof of the vehicle. In the afternoon, you will reach the destination for the day, the Seronera Valley in the central Serengeti area. You will camp for the night and stay in safari-styled tents enjoying a good meal in the middle of the African bush.

Lake Eyasi – Arusha
Lake Eyasi is home to the Hadzabe tribe, who live in the area for more than 10,000 years and still retain their fascinating hunter-gatherer lifestyle. Start the day very early in the morning, just before sunrise, to join the Hadzabe tribe in their daily morning activities. You will be joining the men in their hunting that takes place in the bushes at a fairly fast pace, especially when an animal is spotted. Be aware that if they find an animal, they will not spare it, this is their livelihood, so you are asked to be as respectful and inconspicuous as possible to not disturb their hunt. If you feel the hunting is not for you will be able to join the women in their daily fruit-gathering session to learn more about their skills and traditions. This experience will give you a unique and unforgettable insight into Hadzabe’s extraordinary culture. After lunch we will visit the beautiful Lake Eyasi, a season shallow salted lake on the floor of the Great Rift Valley and then return to Arusha.
