5-Day Kruger Park and Panorama Route from Johannesburg

Drive from Johannesburg to Kruger

This will be a 5-hour road trip. Pick-up from your hotel is between 6 and 7 am and we drive to Hoedspruit in a comfortable vehicle. The estimated time of arrival is at noon. Upon arrival, enjoy some welcoming drinks, unpack and relax and then enjoy lunch.

Explore the nocturnal life in the wild with a sunset game drive which offers you a chance to see predators stalking their prey (however, a kill is not always guaranteed). See night birds like owls, watch the shining eyes of wild animals, listen to the chirping crickets and howling animals, and watch hippos come out of the water to graze. A sunset game drive is a perfect way to enjoy being in nature while watching the stars and experiencing the cool evening breeze.

Full Day In Kruger National Park

The bush never sleeps! Wake up before sunrise to go on an early morning game drive and watch the wildlife enjoying the cool early-morning breeze. If you are lucky, you might spot a kill or a leopard dragging its kill up the tree. Watch lions roam around before they hide from the heat of the sun. Enjoy a coffee in the bush while you watch the beautiful African sunrise and then continue the game drive for the rest of the day. You will return to the lodge at 4:30 pm.

You will end the day with dinner at the lodge and prepare for the next day.

Panorama Route tour

After breakfast, you will start on the Panorama Route tour. The Panorama Route is situated on the Blyde River Canyon. It is the greenest canyon in the world as well as one of the biggest canyons in the world. The Panorama Route will take you through scenic drives and stops at some of the best views along the canyon. The first stop is at God's Window, situated on the Drakensberg escarpment. It offers magnificent views of the canyon.

You'll pass by the Lisbon Falls and the Berlin Falls. Drive to Bourke's Luck Potholes situated on the Blyde River Canyon. The potholes are deep, cylindrical potholes formed from millions of years of soil erosion. The last stop for the day will be at the Three Rondavels. This famous viewing point gives an amazing view of the Blyde River Canyon. We then drive back to the lodge.

Boat cruise on the Blyde River Canyon and Sunset Game Drive

After breakfast, you will go on a boat cruise on the Blyde River Canyon. Enjoy a 90-minute guided boat cruise while learning more about the natural history of the canyon. The boat cruise also gives an amazing view of the Three Rondavels from the river and an amazing view of the Kadishi Tufa Waterfalls. After the boat cruise, you will return to the lodge to enjoy lunch and relax at the pool.

Finish off the day with a sunset game drive and enjoy the wildlife for the last time. This gives you a chance to spot and search for some of the animals you might have missed. Enjoy dinner at the lodge.

Explore Dullstroom and drive back to Johannesburg

Enjoy breakfast at the lodge and check out at 9 am before you start driving back to Johannesburg. You arrive in Dullstroom for lunch and explore this fascinating village with a lot of antique stores. After a 2.5-hour break in Dullstroom, you continue to Johannesburg where the estimated time of arrival is 4 pm. We drop you off at the hotel and this marks the end of the tour.
