Day 1

Once we’ve picked you up from the airport, hotel, or residence, we will drive you north through central Kenya. The picturesque countryside will be a lovely introduction to the country as you watch everyday life played out in the towns and villages that line the roads.

Upon entering Samburu, you will immediately have the opportunity to start spotting the stunning animals you have come to visit. This short game drive will take you to your accommodation in the park, and after lunch, a more extensive game drive will be undertaken.

Samburu boasts riverine forests and a landscape you won’t encounter again as you progress through your safari. This is your first chance to explore and become acquainted with the fauna of these grasslands.

Dinner and overnight stay at the Sarova Shaba Game Lodge.

Explore Samburu National Reserve

Enjoy breakfast and head out for a game drive. Samburu’s landscape is dominated by the volcano of the same name, which will be the backdrop to your exploration of this park.

The neighboring park of Shaba will also form part of your day’s game drive. Its challenging landscape will add to the genuine African safari experience. The rugged park, dotted with trees and characterized by rolling grasslands, hosts beautiful landscapes where nature plays out her cycles.

Day 3

Samburu National Reserve - Aberdares National Park

Samburu National Reserve - Aberdares National Park

Enjoy breakfast and leave Samburu for Aberdare National Park. As you leave Samburu, you can say farewell to the reserve as you take a game drive toward the exit. You will arrive at Aberdares National Park in time for lunch, which will be preceded by another game drive.

Your afternoon will consist of a trip across the park to Ark. The decks and balconies of this place overlook a watering hole and salt lick, so there is plenty of wildlife to watch. Over 250 bird species are in this park, many on display here, along with elephants, hippos, waterbucks, and plenty more.

To round off the day, you will return to the Ark Lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 4

Aberdare National Park to Lake Nakuru National Park

Aberdare National Park to Lake Nakuru National Park

Enjoy your breakfast and check out to start your drive to the famous Lake Nakuru National Park. You'll drive through the Great Rift Valley, stopping at Thomson Falls, part of the Ewaso Nyiro River. These cascading falls tumble to the thick forest below. You'll make a stop at the equator and later proceed with a drive to Lake Nakuru. You'll arrive in time for lunch and check-in. In the afternoon, proceed for an exciting afternoon game drive until evening. The Park is home to stunning flocks of lesser and Greater Flamingos, which turn the lakeshores into a magnificent pink stretch. The bird life here is world renowned, and over 400 bird specibird'sst here, including White Pelicans, Plovers, Egrets, and Marabou Stork. It is also one of the very few places in Africa to see the White and Black Rhino and rare Rothschild Giraffe.

Day 5

Have an early morning breakfast. After breakfast, leave Lake Nakuru for Masai Mara, a 5-hour drive. You will arrive on time for check-in and lunch. In the afternoon, embark on a game drive at the Masai Mara. The Masai Mara National Reserve features a stunning Kaleidoscope of wild and rugged landscapes, warm and welcoming people, and an exciting array of big or small creatures. The Reserve is famous for hosting the epic Great Wildebeest Migration. The Reserve welcomes over 1.5 million wildebeests onto its sprawling savannahs each July through October.

Later, return to the camp for dinner and your overnight stay after an African Sunset.

Day 6

Full Immersion into the Masai Mara

Full Immersion into the Masai Mara

After breakfast, you will head out to a full-day game drive, returning in the evening. Your driver/guide will ensure a picnic lunch is packed for you when you leave in the morning. He will surely get you a scenic spot to have your meal against the backdrop of the serene African savannah. Masai Mara reserve is part of the vast Serengeti plains famously known for its spectacular great wildebeest migration and is home to the Big Five, Small Five, and Ugly Five.

Later, you will return to Zebra Plains Mara Camp in the evening after the African Sunset for dinner and an overnight stay.
