Day 1

Upon your arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport, you will be welcomed by the Meru Slopes transfer driver and taken to the Arusha Tourist Inn. You will spend the rest of the day at your leisure in Arusha city or at the hotel. We will have a tour briefing in the evening as we prepare for the upcoming safari. Your accommodation is on a bed and breakfast basis.

Day 2

Arusha to Tarangire National Park

Arusha to Tarangire National Park

You will be picked up from your Arusha hotel at 8:00am and then drive to Tarangire National Park for three hours. You will go on a full-day game drive inside the park and then make your way to the Fanaka Lodge for dinner and your overnight stay.

Tarangire National Park is located 115km from Arusha. The park gets its name from the Tarangire River, where the animals congregate to drink. This park is characterized by large herds of elephants, tree-climbing lions, and fascinating baobab trees. The baobab is sometimes referred to as the “tree of life” due to the mythical powers that some cultures ascribe to it.

Day 3

Tarangire National Park to Serengeti National Park

Tarangire National Park to Serengeti National Park

After breakfast, we will head towards Serengeti National Park via the beautiful, high-lying farmland of Karatu and the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Leaving the highlands behind, we descend into the heart of wild Africa: Serengeti National Park, whose endless plains rolling into the distance as far as the eye can see. Next, we will make our way to the central park area known as Seronera. The Seronera area is one of the richest wildlife habitats in the park. It features the Seronera River, which provides a valuable water source to this area and attracts most of the animal species found in Serengeti. We will arrive in time for lunch and enjoy an afternoon game drive in the park.

Day 4

Serengeti National Park Migration Tour

You will wake up early and have a full breakfast before starting your game drive inside Serengeti. We will ensure that you follow the wildebeest migration during your time with us.

The time of the annual Great Migration varies every year. The best chance of seeing it is from June to September, as the wildebeest calving season is from January to March. From July to September, your driver can take you to the northern Serengeti to watch the wildebeest crossing the Mara River. A million and a half wildebeest travel throughout the year as they look for fresh grazing pasture and follow the rainfall for better water sources. After your full-day game drive, you will return to your accommodations for dinner and your overnight stay.

Day 5

Serengeti Plain to Ngorongoro Crater

Before heading out on your early morning game drive, you will greet the day with a fresh cup of coffee. Then, you will watch the sunrise and return to the campsite by 11:00am for brunch. After brunch, you head out on another game drive en route to the Ngorongoro Crater. Dinner and your overnight stay will be at the Ngorongoro Simba Campsite.

Day 6

Ngorongoro Crater to Arusha

Ngorongoro Crater to Arusha

After breakfast, we will descend onto the floor of the Ngorongoro Crater for a game drive. You will be able to view the Big Five here. After an entire day of game drives in the crater, we have a lunch before drive back to Arusha. Later in the evening, we will drive you back to Arusha and drop you off at your hotel.

Before returning to Arusha, you can visit the local Maasai people to learn about their cultural activities.
