Karatu - Serengeti National Park
Following a delightful stay at the lodge, you’ll drive to Serengeti National Park (with a lunch box in hand) for another extraordinary wildlife experience. The Serengeti is renowned as the home of the world's largest animal migration, often referred to as the "Great Migration." Over 1.7 million wildebeest, 500,000 zebras, and 200,000 antelope traverse the Ndutu region of the southern Serengeti, making their way northward through the vast plains, covering 500mi/800km to Kenya's Masai Mara.
This cyclical migration commences in March, following the annual birthing of the calves in Ndutu in February, and concludes with their return in January. This aligns with the rain cycle and the growth of fresh grasses. During this time period, approximately 250,000 wildebeest succumb to thirst, hunger, exhaustion, and predation.

Serengeti National Park
After a splendid evening featuring fantastic food and a satisfying breakfast the next morning, you’ll embark on a game drive in the Serengeti. Today you have the option to enhance your experience with a balloon safari (cost included), which will allow you to traverse the expansive Serengeti in the most “off road” way imaginable.
The most notable characteristic of the Serengeti is its vast treeless grassland in the south, adorned with kopjes—granite formations serving as observation posts for predators. The volcanic grasslands here thrive on soils derived from volcanic ash originating from volcanoes near the Grumeti and Mbalageti rivers. The region encompasses substantial riverine forests and small mountain ranges, with the great migration passing through the corridor from May to July. It extends all the way to Lake Victoria.
