Day 1

Arusha to Tarangire

Arusha to Tarangire

Arrive at Kilimanjaro International Airport or Arusha Airport whereafter you'll drive straight to Tarangire National Park for a game drive. Tarangire National Park is one of the most famous wildlife areas in Tanzania and the most unique part about this park is the high concentration of elephants. Another really interesting fact about this park is the baobab trees, the largest and longest-living trees in the world.

Animals to be seen here are lions, leopards, zebras, buffaloes, giraffes, impalas, wildebeests, etc. The best time of the year to visit is from June to early November. After November it will be time for the short rainy season, therefore fewer animals to be seen. The Tarangire River is the lifeblood of wildlife, as when the rain stops, there is no other source of water except this river.

Main Destination:

Best Time To Visit July to November (Animals come to the Tarangire River)

After an early breakfast, drive to the crater for a full-day game drive. The crater provides easy access to the highest concentration of wildlife within a small area. Abundant food and water force animals to stay in this area all year long. Animals to be seen here include black rhinos, lions, leopards, elephants, wildebeests, giraffes, buffalos, and hippos.

The crater is one of the most beautiful geological features in the world. It was formed through the eruption of a volcanic mountain which later collapsed to form a caldera. Later, we drive back to Karatu or Arusha for an overnight stay.

Ngorongoro Crater
Best Time To Visit June to October (Wildlife viewing is best)
