Day 3

Serengeti National Park

Serengeti National Park

Enjoy a full-day game drive in Serengeti National Park. The Serengeti is the most popular wildlife sanctuary in the world. Apart from its beautiful landscapes and kopjes or volcanic rocks, this park is the home of the most popular wildlife migration in the world. About 1.5 to 2 million wildebeests, thousands of zebras, and antelopes migrate in search of food and water.

This is also the best park in the world for its concentration of cats like lions, leopards, cheetahs, hyenas, etc. Other animals to see here include many buffalos, giraffes, hippos, impalas, and crocodiles. Crocodiles are very dangerous especially when animals cross the waters of the Grumeti River and Mara River. They feed on wildebeests and zebras during the crossing. They then reduce their metabolism so that they can live longer without food when the prey animals are gone. Later, we drive back to the camp or lodge.

Lake Eyasi is another popular place as the homeland for the Bushmen, the most primitive society in the world. Their way of life goes back to their ancestors' hunting and root gatherings. They keep moving from one place to another, following the animals as their main source of food. Those wild animals keep moving far from the Bushmen to survive but the Bushmen have to follow them so that they can get food. For centuries it has been a game of chase and escape between the Bushmen and wild animals in order for each one to survive. Later in the afternoon, we drive back to Arusha.
