Our company driver-guide will welcome you and give you an overview of the ultimate 7-day Rwanda tour when you arrive at the designated pick-up location. You will receive a briefing on Rwanda and what to expect from the safari while enjoying a glass of juice. Thereafter, get comfortable in the vehicle before you proceed on the drive to the only savannah park in the country. Akagera National Park is host to a plethora of wildlife species and the African Big 5.
For around 4 to 5 hours, you can admire the undulating hills and scattered homesteads. When you arrive at the lodge late in the afternoon, you'll have lunch and relax in the gardens before settling in for a good night's rest.

Game drive
You will wake up very early to an enjoyable 3- to 4-hour game drive in one of the biggest savannah parks on the African continent. There is no guarantee that you will see your favorite animal when you drive through the park, but with luck, you may spot many species. The park is home to Cape buffaloes, elephants, warthogs, oribis, giraffes, leopards, rhinos, leopards, wild dogs, and more. Complete your checklist by seeing many animals including birds, primates, reptiles, and more.
You will enjoy a bush breakfast after the game drive, and later have lunch. The evening session will be held at Lake Ihema, where you will have to keep an eye out for animals like hippos and crocodiles during a boat ride. After the activity, you'll head back to the lodge for dinner and a good night's sleep.

Transfer to Nyungwe National Park
After a sumptuous breakfast at the lodge, you will check out to take a journey from the realm of the Big Five and head to the habitat of chimpanzees, who are the closest living cousins of humans and share over 98 percent of our DNA. Watch the stunning scenery leading to the park, the scattered homesteads, and more.
You will pause at the Nyanza Palace for lunch and traditional entertainment. Continue your journey to the park where you will be welcomed at the lodge for dinner and a restful evening.

Chimp trekking in the Nyungwe National Park
Before dawn, after enjoying a hearty breakfast, prepare to head out to where your cousins the chimpanzees are playing, eating, and relaxing. The chimpanzee trekking begins with a briefing during which the ranger guide informs you of the trekking dos and don'ts and checks your documentation. It takes between 1 and 6 hours to complete this walk, plus an additional hour for taking pictures, learning about chimpanzees, and other activities. Along with chimpanzees, you will also come across other primates like baboons, colobus monkeys and more.
Following this trekking adventure, you will have a lunch break before capping the day with a canopy walk through the enormous tree branches. You have an opportunity to see the monkeys, scattered homesteads, and spectacular scenery from the summits. After dinner, retire for the night.

Transfer to Volcanoes National Park
After a hearty breakfast, you'll head to the Volcanoes National Park to start your day. The journey takes 4 to 6 hours and is characterized by dense vegetation, undulating hills, and sporadic homesteads. As you navigate the turns, hills, and valleys, the driver-guide will keep you entertained with amusing stories. You will make a pit stop for lunch and some refreshments. When you arrive at the park in the evening, you'll head to the lodge for leisure, dinner, and a sound sleep.

Relaxing
After a hearty breakfast at the lodge, you can do an optional gorilla trekking activity at an extra fee of $1500 per person. We will drive to the park headquarters for a pre-tour briefing. The ranger guides will welcome you and lead you to the gorilla habitat. You will be assigned a gorilla family to track and will go over the dos and don'ts of hiking. The gorillas live together as a family and protect their territory under the leadership of a dominating silverback. The trekking exercise takes between 1 and 6 hours as you search for them from the location where the apes were last seen.
The trek to the apes is not in vain because you will also come across rare plant species, birds, and other primates in the jungle, including baboons, vervet monkeys, and more. You will return to the resort for lunch and refreshments after the gorilla trekking exercise.

Golden monkey trekking and transfer to Kigali Airport
Enjoy a delicious breakfast before you trek the golden monkeys in their natural habitat. After a successful trek and with your eyes fixated on the plants and ears tuned to the sounds of birds and more, you get a chance to stretch your legs while taking in the different flora and fauna. A ranger guide will lead you through the trails for about an hour as you take in the breathtaking scenery, unusual plants, and wildlife.
After saying goodbye to the Volcanoes National Park, travel for roughly 2 to 3 hours to Kigali, Rwanda. Visit the nearby historical and cultural landmarks before arriving at your drop-off point.
