Arusha

Upon your arrival, our guide will be there waiting to pick you up. You will then be driven to the Malkia Tree Lodge in Arusha. If you arrive early enough, you may nap or rest in the hotel for a few hours. Alternatively, our guide can take you around the city if you have enough energy.

Mount Kilimanjaro

Our guides will arrive at the hotel in the morning to meet you and hold a quick briefing. You’ll then be transferred to Kilimanjaro National Park's eastern entrance at the Marangu Gate (1,860m/6,046ft). After some quick formalities (registering with the rescue service and obtaining your climbing permits), the group will start trekking up to Mandara Hut (2,700m/8,858ft). The trekking route includes a passage through the rainforest. Tropical showers are highly probable, so we recommend taking raincoats. The full hiking distance is 16km, takes approximately 7-8 hours, and is medium difficulty.

When you reach the camp, you will be provided with lunch boxes. After lunch you can take a hike to the beautiful Maundi Crater nearby. It will take about 30 minutes, after which you will start your descent back to the park exit. There our driver will pick you up and drive you to your hotel in Moshi town.

Maasai Village (Oltukai Village)

After a 7:00am breakfast at your lodge, our local Maasai warrior guide will pick you up and transfer you to the Maasai village known as Oltukai. This village is located in-between Tarangire National Park and Lake Manyara National Park. The journey will take approximately 2.5 hours. Upon arrival the men and women of the village will welcome you with a dancing song. They will then invite you to dress in their traditional attire and treat you like a friend. You may fetch water with the women, herd livestock with the men (if you are a man) or join the children in a school project. Afterwards you will return to Arusha.

Kikuletwa Hot Springs

Kikuletwa Hot Springs is an oasis-like hidden paradise located in-between Kilimanjaro International Airport and Moshi town. The water here is a little warm and sweet in addition to being super fresh. Our driver will pick up you at 8:00am from your hotel and then transfer you to the Hot Springs. The journey will take approximately 2.5 hours. Do not forget bathing suits and a change of clothes! You’ll spend around 9-10 hours at the springs before driving back to Arusha.
