Today, you will embark on a journey to the remote, beautiful and hilly southwestern Uganda. This long drive of between 8 and 9 hours is a rich experience for people who love road trips. Most of the road is paved, but even for slightly uncomfortable parts, they get more adventurous with the beauty of rolling hills. As you go through the villages and gaze at locals, you will be shocked to learn that you have already arrived at the lodge. Enjoy a campfire before or after dinner by the riverside!

Day 2

After an early breakfast, you will drive to the briefing point in the forest of Bwindi Impenetrable National Park to be enlightened about your adventure with the mountain gorillas. You are advised to carry enough drinking water and a lunch box. For 15 US dollars, you can get a porter to carry your bag and give you a hand in slippery or steep parts of the forest. After the briefing, you are distributed into groups of 8 and led by a park ranger into the forest, where you will spend an hour with the gentle giants. Rain gear is important, considering that Bwindi is a tropical rainforest.

After the trekking, you can relax at the lodge. Enjoy a campfire before or after dinner by the riverside!

After an early breakfast, you will be transferred to Mgahinga for a briefing before entering the forest to search for these bamboo-associated primates. Some consider this as the next best thing after gorilla trekking. You will be allowed an hour with these beautiful Albertine Rift endemics. After this activity, you will be transferred to Rubirizi near Kalinzu in preparation for chimp trekking. Enjoy dinner and your overnight stay.

After breakfast, you will be transferred to Kalinzu Forest, managed by the Uganda National Forest Authority, for chimpanzee tracking. On top of all the right forest gear, remember to carry enough drinking water. After a briefing, you will enter the forest, and when you find the chimpanzees, you will be allowed one hour to spend with them. After the activity, you will be transferred to Entebbe.
