Arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport

We will pick you up from Kilimanjaro International Airport and transfer you to Malkia Trees Lodge in Arusha. On the way to the accommodation, you will see Mount Kilimanjaro and Mount Meru, the second-highest mountain in Tanzania.
Travel time is 1 hour.

Maasai Village Experience

After breakfast at the lodge at 6:45am, the local Masai warrior guide will meet you and take you to the Masai village. The village is known as Oltukai Village, located between Tarangire National Park and Lake Manyara National Park.

The journey to Oltukai from Arusha starts at 7:15am and will take a maximum of 2.5 hours. Upon arrival, you will see the village moms and warriors eagerly waiting to greet you. The Masai are a friendly tribe and enjoy hosting guests in their village, and one of the first activities is to dress you in traditional Masai clothes.

The daily activities for men and women can now start: women will take you to fetch water, do housekeeping, and collect firewood, while the men will show you how to herd livestock and hunt.

The Masai community will not let you leave as a guest but as a friend.

Maasai Village Experience

The sounds of birds, cows, and nature will wake you as the sun rises around 6:00am—a spectacular sight! At around 6:45, the village mom will show you how to milk the cows while the warriors start the fire. You are welcome to participate in these activities! Now, it is time to join the kids at their school and hear about their lives. Finally, enjoy a walking safari around the village for one to two hours.

You are welcome to take as many photos as you want while in the village. The tours offered by Kipe Adventure to the Maasai village are sustainable tours, which means guests participate in the daily activities in the village. Please be mindful and respect the local culture.

Maasai Village to Arusha

After breakfast in the village, it is time to say goodbye to the community and start the return journey to Arusha. Along the way, we will stop at a workshop the village moms manage—please support them.

From here, we will travel for about two hours before we reach Arusha. Upon arrival in Arusha, we will pass by the most extensive gallery in Africa, the Gallery of Africa.

Materuni Waterfall and Coffee Tour

After breakfast at the lodge, you will start driving to Moshi. The Materuni Village, located at the edge of Mount Kilimanjaro, is known for its coffee and banana plantations and beautiful views of Mount Kilimanjaro. The Materuni waterfall is high and a sight to see! Enjoy a coffee tour and a hike to the waterfall.

The tour lasts about 2.5 hours, after which we will drop you off in Moshi.
