The departure from Maun to the destination camp (Deception Valley) in CKGR will be in the early morning. The 316km journey will be done in a safari vehicle, allowing a perfect viewing of the flat grasslands. The wildlife in this area includes springbok and gemsbok, as well as wildebeest, hartebeest, eland and giraffe. At other times of the year, when the animals are more sparsely distributed, the experience of travelling through truly untouched wilderness of seemingly unending dimensions, is amazing.
Upon arrival at camp, you will be welcomed with lunch and an afternoon siesta. A sunset and evening game drive around Deception Valley will follow. Upon return to the camp, guests will be treated to a hot camp shower before proceeding to dinner around a campfire. Guests will then retreat to their tents, equipped with a stretcher bed, a veranda, and an attached bathroom with a flushable toilet, shower, and sink.

Day 2

Rise and shine and say hello to a fresh morning over coffee/tea and rusks for a morning game drive to Sunday Pan Waterhole. We will have brunch at Passarge Valley under the dense umbrella-thorn acacia tortillis thickets where cheetahs and lions rest in the midday heat. CKGR also boasts an amazing variety of birds. Secretary bird, kori bustard and
ostrich are the most prominent species to be spotted, with good chances of also seeing lappet-faced vulture and white-backed vulture. Our exploration will continue along this amazing landscape in search of its beauties. The final leg of the morning drive will take us back through Leopard Pan to arrive at camp for lunch and enjoy an afternoon siesta. After a well-deserved rest, we will depart for an evening game drive to Deception Pan, where we will enjoy a great sunset. Once the sun goes down, we will head back to camp.

Day 3-4
Hello Nxai Pan

On this exciting morning, our camp will be taken down and we'll get ready to move to Nxai Pan. We will head out on our safari vehicles on a leisurely drive to our next camp. This will be your last chance to take in the last views of the Kalahari Game Reserve in all its glory. We will break for a light lunch after our journey to the Nxai Pan and make some rounds in search of some animals, passing through lagoons and pools along the river channels as well as flat plains. We will then return in the late afternoon to camp as we reflect on our sightings. Upon arrival, we will freshen up and do camp activities depending on timing (from traditional cooking master classes to learning traditional games such as morabaraba). You will then be treated to a hot shower in the privacy of your en-suite tent and proceed to enjoy your campfire dinner.

Travel back
Rise and shine to a warm, delicious breakfast before we head out to explore more of the renowned Nxai Pan for some great game viewing. Early mornings are ideal for bird watching. We will arrive back in Maun in time to catch your flight home.
