Early Morning Road Transfer from Johannesburg to Kruger Area and then Afternoon Game Drive
You'll catch the early morning road shuttle from Johannesburg to Three Bridges (a 5–6-hour trip in an air-conditioned minibus). Three Bridges restaurant overlooks the Olifants River and often hippos and elephants can be seen from the dining deck.
You'll meet the shuttle and then drive the remaining 15 minutes to the bushcamp where lunch is ready and served under on a raised deck with a view over the waterhole.
An afternoon drive of 3 hours is on the agenda leaving as soon as the day cools down and animals are starting to move about. The large area that nDzuti has to traverse is productive and exciting with possibilities. All of the Big Five iconic animals roam free on this section of Balule Game Reserve which contributes 55,000 ha to the Greater Kruger Park; the national and private parks combined.
At sunset, you'll stop to stretch your legs and share a drink and snacks. Then, you'll continue on the drive. As the evening grows dark, you'll use a handheld spotlight for viewing.

Bush Camp with Morning and Afternoon Game Drives, Relaxing in Camp
After traveling to Kruger, it's now time to relax and enjoy the surroundings. The game drives are three hours each at dusk and at dawn and in between, there is plenty of time to enjoy birding around camp, lounge on the couches upstairs, or take a dip in the pool. Consider a good book on your private deck in front of your tent and keep an eye on the waterhole for wildlife coming down to drink.
The morning and afternoon game drives explore the 8000-ha concession of the Maseke section —Balule Game Reserve with its breathtaking landscapes of rocky mountainous outcrops and the Olifants River. The Big Five animals are found here and a myriad other game species and birds. During the summer months, the many resident birds are joined by countless others from Eurasia, leaving their cold climes for summertime in the Kruger with the flush of life that follows the rains. Generally, summertime is our rainy season, but it does not stop "play" and we can go on game drives throughout the year.

Leave Balule for the Foothills of the Drakensburg and a Tour including Blyde Canyon &and Moholoholo
After an early start and about an hour's drive you will arrive at Maholoholo Wildlife Rehabilitation Centre to meet the legendary Brian Jones and his dedicated family and gain an insight into the struggle that ensues when wild animals and people share areas. This Kruger area was, until very recently, sparsely populated but as diseases such as malaria were controlled more and more people have settled next to the protected areas thereby causing a unique people and park conflict.
Animals are brought to the rehab centre when they are somehow hurt by man-made factors. If possible they are rehabilitated and rewilded. Some animals can never return to the wild and they are used in this tour of the centre.
You'll have lunch on the banks of the Blyde River under a giant sycamore fig and then drive deep into the canyon below the towering cliffs of the "Three Rondavels" for a boat trip on the Blyde Canyon dam.
Your accommodation is at a lodge inside the Timbavati Private Game Reserve.
