Karatu - Serengeti National Park
After breakfast, you will drive up into the cooler regions of the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. There will be a chance to stop and see the spectacular Ngorongoro Crater. You will then transit through the Ngorongoro Conservation Area to the Serengeti, entering the park's south.
The Serengeti is truly spectacular. It is famous for its vast open grasslands, which allow excellent wildlife sightings. Whilst it boasts abundant wildlife, it is perhaps best known for its annual great migration. Vast numbers of wildebeest, zebra, and antelope move in an annual pattern, constantly seeking fresh grazing. The migration can be found during any given month - you just need to know where to look! Depending on what time of year you visit, you may get a chance to witness one of the "Seven Wonders of the Natural World".
You will have a picnic lunch and overnight at a campsite in the middle of the bush!

Serengeti is located in northern Tanzania and is a World Heritage Site, occupying an area of around 15,000 square kilometers. It is home to over 2 million herbivores, 4,000 lions, 1,000 leopards, 550 cheetahs and some 500 bird species. This area has massive herds of migratory wildebeest and zebra during the Dry season. However, the Northern Serengeti also supports abundant resident wildlife including lion, elephant, hippo, giraffe, crocodile and the rare oribi antelope.

Ngorongoro Crater - Karatu
After breakfast, you will wind your way towards Ngorongoro Crater, hopefully enjoying more wonder on the way! The Ngorongoro Crater, concealed by the steep volcanic walls, is a pristine wilderness with sweeping savannah, acacia woodland pockets, glistening lakes, and swamps. The crater was created when a large volcano exploded and collapsed in on itself 2 to 3 million years ago.
The drive down into the crater is an adventure in itself. When you reach the crater floor, you'll quickly find yourself amongst large numbers of wildebeest, zebra, gazelle, and more than 500 bird species. The crater provides the best chance of seeing the endangered black rhino, which can sometimes be spotted in the open grasslands.

After breakfast, our safari guide will pick you up from your hotel or lodge and proceed to Lake Manyara National Park for game viewing and a picnic lunch. After the game drive, transfer to Arusha or Kilimanjaro Airport, where the safari will end.
Lake Manyara Park covers an area of only 330 square kilometers (127 square miles), of which up to 200 square kilometers (77 square miles) is made up of the lake when water levels are high. Lake Manyara is an excellent place for bird watching and a good area to find elephants, giraffes, zebras, baboons, warthogs, buffalos and maybe even a legendary tree-climbing lion!
